In the past, projectors have usually been pretty barebones devices, meant only to display an image via a lamp with limited life that was expensive to replace. LGs HU70LA 4k projector isnt just a projector, it aims to be a complete package, providing you with built-in apps such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, voice control functionality with ThinQ or Google Assistant, bluetooth to connect external speakers, all projected via an LED lamp (which is not typical for projectors) with supposed 30,000 hours of life! That is all really quite impressive when compared to projectors of the past. The specs say 60 to 140 inch size projection is possible, but sticking to 120 or under is probably the ideal size given the brightness at that size. Just keep in mind that there isnt a true zoom method here so the size you want is really determined by how far away you place the projector from your wall or screen. Another great feature here is how QUIET it is! Probably due to the LED design vs a typical lamp, I expect that there is a lot less heat involved, and thus, less intense cooling needed via a fan. A noisy projector can be annoying and distracting while watching movies or playing video games so, this is a definite plus that its quiet. The quality of the projection itself is really quite nice overall - 720p cable broadcast up to 4k content on Netflix all looked fantastic with great color reproduction, contrast and blacks levels. The only con about it is that when it comes to movement, there is a bit of blur that occurs but really, its about the same kind of effect that occurs in any LED TV with less than a NATIVE 120hz refresh rate (which is 9/10 of them out there - many claim 120hz with special buzz words like TruMotion, MotionPlus, etc and those are all artificial means of doubling the refresh rate, which is not the same as having native 120hz. If a tv has native 120hz, youll usually see it advertised with those buzzwords as 240hz, and of course, itll be more expensive too). This projector happens to utilize the TruMotion buzzword here too. For movies and tv this really isnt an issue for me, but for gaming, I wouldnt consider this very tolerable. If youre at all competitive, youll want to stick to dedicated 1ms response time computer monitors or high refresh rate TVs with gaming modes to drop the response time as much as possible, OR, upgrade to the HU85LA projector (which is a few grand more expensive however...). Overall, given the many features, the long life LED, the picture quality for movies and tv, the projection size and brightness, the small and quiet design, this is an excellent projector for the price. The next higher quality upgrade is more than 2x as expensive and is really only a little bit better in terms of picture quality so what youre getting here for the price is a great deal.

Hi, I am the fan of LG projector. I am always looking for LG projector before other brand. I am current own the LG PF85U . I love this projector . Thru the years I had try many previous model of LG LED projectors . I dont find any issue to complain about. Now come to this 4K I have had try to tune , twisted this projector for my viewing eyes . I find out this projector has issues with TV broadcasting program . It shows blur images not as clear as the LG PF85U . May be because the program isnt in 4K ??? When I watch the movies is OK . I am getting tire of fine tune it to my viewing eyes . I cant say to other people to buy or not buying this projector . You have to try for yourself . This is what I feel after I have had hand on experience . I am the person dont want to return anything I have bought, because I had read and research before I actually committed on buying . I hope this review can help you in your decision when trying to buy 4K projector . Thanks

LG customer support is pretty bad and not helpful at all. Probably will stick with a different brand. I have major issues with the uniform focus across the entire screen. My edges are always blurry and LG tech support was completely useless . Would not recommend this projector ( or brand )

BEAUTIFUL PICTURE QUALITY! I was skeptical about buying a projector, thinking the picture quality wouldn’t come close to a newer tv... I was wrong. The picture is stunning and crisp. There are occasional moments that I notice a little disturbance in the picture. When sun was shining thru the blinds during a scene in breaking bad, the window got all distorted. I also noticed it when the grill of the car came over a hill the grill got distorted as well. Besides those two instances tho... it’s been perfect. Highly recommend. For the price you can throw a 10’ screen on your wall crystal clear.

We bought this for our movie room and it is awesome. Great quality. Works well. The remote even has buttons for netflix and amazon movies.

With up to a 140-inch screen at 4k UHD resolution (3840 x 2160), the HU70LA displays at high precision and detail with realistic picture quality. Wheel-less LED technology bypasses the shortcomings of conventional projectors such as discoloration of LCD and the rainbow effect** of DLP for rich and deep color. Mount the projector on the ceiling—with Remote Focus and an improved zoom of up to 1.25x, you can easily adjust the size of the screen with the included LG Magic Remote without relocating the projector. HDR Dynamic Tone Mapping optimizes picture quality frame by frame, while TruMotion generates animation frames between existing one for a more fluid look and feel. Control using your voice with Google Assistant and Alexa built-in. Use Miracast to project content from your mobile devices, and pair with Bluetooth devices such as speakers and headphones. XPR Technology is based on Texas Instruments" 4K/UHD DLP technology that helps projectors to achieve true 4K resolution with 8.3 million pixels. **Rainbow effect caused by color wheel.
