Liquitex Professional Fluid Medium, 946ml (32-oz), Gloss

I like the matte finish best. It really seems to put a finish to the painting.

I was expecting this Glazing Fluid Medium to behave MUCH more like the Matt Medium from Liquitex that i absolutely love, but this somehow seemed to change the colour of the metallic paints i bought this to use it with, i will update the review once i try again with a few other paints plus some opaque paints that i want to appear glossy.

I should have gotten a lighter weight glaze for what I was doing but it worked as expected and did a good job.

I prefer not using a medium, but I quite like this one. It does slow drying and is very useful in mixing my own colors. Ive used it with my Liquitex acrylics as well as other craft acrylics. Unlike other mediums Ive tried, this adheres well and doesnt cause texture issues with my paint on canvas, wood and MDF.

i had to research this… According to Liquitex, this is the same formulation as what use to be called « Gloss medium and Varnish » - They changed the name and bottle colour - but it can still be used as a varnish. Other than this confusion, it is a good product… They now have a separate product bottle for the varnish as well.

helps to give my artwork a little bit of pop. generally, i prefer a matte finish, but if i use glazing medium pared with a liquitex varnish, i can get strong jewel tones (it looks like i am painting with liquid gemstones). trying not to abuse it too much, but i love this stuff and am glad i went with the big bottle.

Also this new packaging does not say “and varnish” so not sure if it has it which the price reflects. No option for Color choice for included paint. I will try Product itself in a few pours to see how it works.
