I use this with Apple HomeKit on iPhone and Lurton app on my Android. I use it to turn on an outdoor fountain.

But worth it for the rock-solid connection and HomeKit integration!

Its nice and solid quality, but I know theres nothing special going on with these when many other brands do the same. Id say the positive is using their own frequency, long distance channels, keeps them off of your wi-fi so less devices taking up the precious signals. But, Lutron, come on, such a difficult closed system to work with the RA2 protocols. Need some API for integrators.

This is a great solution for just on/off functionality. However, there is no built in functionality for using the Caseta Pico remote with dimmer functionality. Was easy to program and appeared to be well built. However I needed dimming capability with our string lights on our terrace. Thought this would be the ticket along with a Pico remote, but not to be so returned it.

This works great for my deck lights. However at 80$ it is a little overpriced. I use apple home kit and like the fact I can turn it on or off from my iPhone control center

I have bought many outdoor plugs by the big name brands and none were easy to hook up. I always had to jimmy(Jerry) rig something to make it work the way they were supposed to. With this on I plugged it in, opened the app on my phone, held the power button down for 10 sec, and then set the right lights and location in the app and I was done. Took 1-2 min tops. The most work was done hanging the string lights. I definitely will be replacing all my other outdoor plus with more of these. It is truly amazing how quick and easy setup was.

We use this with an app fir lutron to control holiday lights. Works perfectly.

I use this device to control my outdoor landscape lighting. I have a lot of Lutron Caseta in the house and this fit into my smart home system very nicely. It was added quickly to my Lutron app. I use the Lutron app to control all my outdoor lighting on a schedule related to sunrise and sunset. I dont integrate it to Alexa because there is no need to control the lights from the Alexa app, but it would be easy to add just like my other Caseta devices. There are two impressive things about this device. First it is well built and would seem to last a long time in an outdoor environment. Second is the range. It is not a WiFi device, it uses a 900Mhz frequency that has better penetration abilities than a 2.4Ghz signal. At first I thought I would have to install this device on the outside of the house between the outlet and the 12V transformer. But I realized that it would fit INSIDE the door on the transformer (I use a 150W transformer by Volt and it is 100% stainless steel enclosure). This made the installation much simpler and secured the device inside the transformer which you can lock. My Lutron hub is in a closet. There are 4 internal walls, a brick exterior wall and a full stainless enclosure around the switch and it works great. That is about 40 feet between the hub and the switch. I also tried it to an outlet in the backyard, even further from the hub and maybe one more wall and it still worked. Yes this switch is relatively expensive. But all the Lutron Caseta hardware I have bought is top quality. It is reliable, and Im not sending a command through some server halfway around the world to turn my lights on/off. This syncs my landscape lighting with my porch light and garage sconces. They turn on and off at the same time and I didnt need to add another system into my smart house. I removed all my WiFi connected devices out of my house, so I was happy to see Lutron release this. I bought a 2nd unit for the backyard.

Used to switch on lamp + used pico remote with wall bracket mount to avoid rewiring or breaking walls.

The Lutron Outdoor Plug was a quick and easy install. I have several Cassetta dimmers and smart plugs, and addicting this outdoor plug to my systems was very simple. Just plug it in and the WiFi bridge immediately located it and I just added it as another one of my smart devices. I wish the wire (that actually plugs into the electric outlet) was longer and not just “pig-tail” length, but that is the only real shortcoming I have found … and it might not be a shortcoming for most others. Overall am very satisfied.
