There are a number of surge protection options available so you may find one more to your personal liking but this one is pretty nice. For piece of mind, it doesn’t hurt to have extra surge protection. The plug will even let you know if your outlet is incorrectly wired before you connect to your camper. The design is well thought out - there is an easy grip handle to make plugging and unplugging easier. The protector has a weatherproof cover to provide extra protection to your camper/RV cable when plugged into this device. It comes with a cleaning cloth and an extra plastic rain cover/parka to keep the pedestal dry. The kit also comes with a lock and keys to secure your surge protection from theft. As an added bonus they included a metal anti-theft cable. At $48 MSRP it’s not a bad choice.

Like the lights giving the ok of connection. Found out that my 30 amp home connection plug was wired incorrectly. Got it fixed.

Item works as advertised and appears well made. It has Surge protection and is much less expensive than other overpriced similar items. It checks line connection and also provides surge protection. Would buy again.

The unit came shipped with an open box and had small pieces of what looked like grass inside the waterproof cover. It had some dirt marks near the plug also. I plugged it in and the lights seemed to be working. I live in Florida and we get nasty thunderstorms almost daily so I hope this will save me if needed but I’m not too sure now. It seems like I’m not the first to have this issue. Otherwise it looks like a solid surge protector. UPDATE: I used it for a few days and had some nasty storms and the weather proofing worked great. I like the product. They offered me a full refund but I’ll keep it because it’s built solid. Another update. The seller just refunded my money after saying who concerned he was about me being satisfied. I told him I wasn’t looking for a refund but he gave me one anyway! Great customer service! The unit works great so far and I would recommend this product and seller to anyone. 5 stars!

This works exactly like a standard outlet polarity/ground checker, with the added benefit that it provides surge protection and that it is in line with your power source. Installation of this is quite simple, just plug this into the power source you will be using for your trailer/RV, read the lights to determine if there are any issues with the electrical, then plug in your RV/trailer power electrical cord into the device of all is ok, at which point you are also getting surge protection. It comes with a lock/cable to secure the device but I frankly dont see the value in it. If someone is going to get close enough to steal this from my trailer/RV, the lock/wire will not be enough of a deterrent, in my opinion. One item that was a bit of a mystery to me is that it came with a large clear plastic bag, not entirely sure what this was for since no instructions are included beyond whats on the sticker of the plug, and box.

Product looks good. Only thing is that it seems too expensive for a normal cheap iron lock. I bought another from Komsepor brand a week ago which came with a convenient number lock for only $59. I would rather prefer Komsepor for the price!
