Makita DML811 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless/Corded Work Light, Light Only

> 24 hourPros: Uses Makita batteries you already have (I am assuming that this is why you would buy it). Light is bright and covers a lot of area just like you would expect from a work light. No cord to get tangled around car parts or building materials. My best use is when you just need the work light but dont want to break out the extension cord for a 5 minute job. Cons: A bit heavier than a standard plug in light, but it is built like a tank. The base doesnt unscrew from the light. I assumed it did with the two screws on each side but they are for adjusting the angle, not breaking it down. Sometimes, if you have two people, you have one person holding the light and it would be easier and lighter without the base.

> 24 hourReally nice light for finishing up projects that run into the darkness, also great for car camping! Should have pulled the trigger on this one much sooner!

> 24 hourMy initial impression is high quality but bulky. Im a little concerned the lense could be damaged easily as there is no guarding. However, I found the diffuser gives it some added protection and it helps distribute the light. The versatility of having a battery or power cord option is nice. Id love to see this light have the ability to charge the battery and a USB ports to charge a cell phone on the job. As I was looking for a good place to store the light, I found installing a hook to the wall it makes an amazing light for the work bench. As far as size, its much larger than other work lights. You wont have to worry about this thing getting knocked over. I wouldnt recommend putting this on a tripod especially with a battery. It would be extremely top heavy. It may be hard to see how bright the light is in the photo but it is bright especially if you take it into a large area. It had no problem illuminating a good portion of my backyard. Id definitely recommend buying this light. Hope this helps!

> 24 hourThis light is pretty nice I think. Bigger than I was expecting, but I think that’s a plus with this. It’s plenty bright I think. I mostly got this for lighting up crawl spaces and maybe outdoor jobsites to help me see to pick up when I’ve got to work a bit after the sun sets to finish the job. I wish it had a meter on it so you could see how much battery life there’s left without having to open the battery compartment. And I wish this light would Have the ability to charge the battery in it when it’s plugged in. But over all it’s nice and as it is it’ll work well enough. Time will tell.

> 24 hourI’m not that impressed with it. For its size and slight bulkiness it should be brighter. I believe I’m gonna send it back. I’m not sure I want to spend 270 on the next model up but I know it’s bulkiness I could deal with for how bright it is. I’m a bit bummed this thing should be brighter. I wanted it as a work light and to shoot videos and I don’t think this light will work for either.

> 24 hourAfter reading the very few reviews for this newly released product, I thought this light would be very bright. At full power (3000 Lumens) it is equivalent to about two 100 watt incandescent bulbs, which is not very bright. For less than $90 more, you can buy the Makita DML809 (10,000 Lumens) which is over three times as bright. Spend the extra money and buy the DML809 on Amazon. This low power 3000 Lumens light seems to be very will built and well designed, but for the large size it is, the light brightness (lumens) is very unimpressive. I would need several to properly light up a 15 ft. X 15 ft. room to see good details for painting, or working on my tractor outside. Im sending this back to exchange for the Makita DML809 higher lumens model.
