> 24 hourDid not like the last Mario Kart (Wii U) for one tiny reason. You could not hold two f****** items. That has been a huge part of strategy in the last mario kart games. Constantly getting a coin in first only to have a red or green shell hit you gets annoying. This allows for having a defense as well as planning ahead on when to use your items. Makes the whole game more intense and strategic. The addition of the super boost from drifting is welcome although you barely can use it as it takes a lot of turning. The battle mode is also pretty cool addition. If I knew more people with the system i think itd be more fun but I usually still stick to just plain racing. The worse part of the port, which is terrible on Nintendos part, is the fact that they couldnt add a few more tracks. The tracks are WAY to short to begin with. would have been nice to have an additional minute or 2 of racing because it ends too fast. So that would have been nice. Also, they have to figure out this online voice chat. Its 2017and if a company worth a few billion dollars cant implement this then who knows.

> 24 hourWe love playing this as a family and my son (5) is able to play by himself as well. Great starter game for young kids. My husband and I play it after he goes to bed sometimes as the levels are remakes of the originals with a new twist which is really neat.

> 24 hourI never got a chance to play this on the Wii U so when I was able to get the switch version on Amazon for under retail I jumped on it. Mario Kart is always a fun party game and 8 Deluxe looks incredible. It plays nicely in handheld and in docked mode. If you never played Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U or you want to upgrade to a version with all the DLC I definitely recommend picking this one up.

> 24 hourWhile it is pretty much the same as the version that came out for the Wii U, it does have a few extra features. While I had played the game on the WU, I never purchased the system or the game and therefore was excited to be able to play it on my own system. This game is really fun to play at parties, especially since you can just pull out the kickstand on the Switch and not have to worry about plugging it in to the TV. I also like how you can turn on different handicaps such as assisted turning and acceleration to help new players be able to participate. I also found this to be more smooth and overall better made than the regular Wii version. While I did love the Wii version and think that ones awesome as well, I love all the different modes, ways to customize your car, and different tweaks you can do for new challenges. It seemed in the Wii version you pretty much found a character/kart setup and never used anything else ever again. Overall, Ive already played it a ton and love the game. Nothing negative to say about it!

> 24 hourHaving skipped the Wii U, I hadnt played Mario Kart since the version on the Wii. I got this the day it released and have been having a blast since. This is the best version yet. Its great having all of the characters and tracks unlocked from the outset. The item distribution remains infuriating especially if youre leading the race, but thats part of the Mario Kart charm, I suppose. The AI difficulty really ramps up at 150-200cc, and totally amplifies item rage when youre inevitably targeted by blue or red shells in the last lap of a race. Additionally, online play has been fun, but not without occasional connectivity issues. Although those have largely improved since launch.

> 24 hourWarning- Fan boy writing a review- I love nintendo. I love mario cart also. I have played all of them. This one was exactly what I expected. I try not to hype myself up for unrealistic things like them making a new game when they have many reviews and have stated exactly what you get with this game. This game is the same as the nintendo WII mario cart with added bonuses, like they added new maps, New Amiibos, New commands, and some other little things. I loved the mario cart on my WII U so I got this one knowing I would also love this one. However, I will give fair cons on this review so people will be not caught off guard. The online mode has issues, the network does go down and I have a very good internet provider. They have also warned people if you want to continue to play online they will be adding a SUB fee in the future. We have no idea how much that will be for. For now though I really like this game, If you can look past those cons and enjoyed the WII U version of this game you should be happy with the switch version as well. GL HF!

> 24 hourI play this game a lot. Mario Kart is a great series to play when you just want to relax, and dont want to strain your brain with puzzles, or get frustrated with a really difficult game. Pros: Bright, colorful, cartoon like graphics. Lots of different tracks. Lots of characters to choose from. Customizable vehicles. Unlockable vehicles. Different kinds of vehicles. 4 different racing speeds. Single player, and online player. Cons: The only cons I can think of is that it doesnt have all the tracks from all the Mario Kart games, and it doesnt have the two person vehicles of Mario Kart: Double Dash. Overall this is one of the best games ever made.
