Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Nintendo Switch

I grew up with the original Mario Kart, and this one is just as fun! The tracks and colors are stunning! The only complaint I have is that you have to purchase some of the tracks. I would think that after spending this much on a game it would come with all of the tracks. There are enough to keep the game fun, though, so my kids love playing just the ones included.

Very fun classic mario kart. But. Its too much of a giver! I didnt really feel like I had any progression in the game! When you get the game all the levels, stages, and characters are unlocked already (save for the amiibo dlc). The only thing you can really unlock is kart customizations which, if youre any sort of decent at mario kart, hardly matter much besides their looks. Graphics are incredible, and there are a bunch of little details Nintendo added in that give this game the classic Nintendo feel with a bit of modernization. The racing mechanics are fun and easy to master with a little practice, as long as you shut off the drive-assist which is enabled by default (why?). Definitely brought back some good nostalgia, and Im sure Ill play it... sometimes. I love Nintendo- die-hard fan- but man, please give us something new! Theres very little replayability to the game. After beating each stage on 50, 100, and 150cc all I wanna do is scream whats new? The addition of link to the game was a welcome surprise and the hyrule themed map made me smile ear to ear. Please keep the switch alive with more great games, Nintendo!!

I bought this to take to my brothers so we could play like we did back on the Super Nintendo. It arrived in time and in pristine packaging, brand new. My brother was so happy, and I was too! I cant believe theres been so many versions of Mario Kart, seems like just a few years ago we were playing the original :D

There may not be a more unbalanced game that relys more heavily on luck than this it crazy! You can be really good and just get screwed over on the last lap! It makes this game soo frustrating! Now its not bad to have a frustrating game look at souls games, but in those you know why you died! In this its just luck. Games arent fun if luck can beat skill cuz then whats the point of getting better at it! It just gets worse everytime I play! I thought driving games were about skill not who can get lucky enough to not get blue shelled, red shelled, and green shelled on the last lap while in first to end up taking like 6th! Nintendo peaked at the 64! Play Mario cart 64 and see how much more balanced and actually fun and not rage inducing it is! Edit: Boy was I mad when I wrote this. Its Mario Kart, its great! Ive played this more than any other Mario Kart. Sometimes a deep breath goes a long ways.

Only 4 stars because you can’t customize the items. It’s 2020 and I still make custom races with custom items. If I want only x3 green shells to play with my friends it would be cool if I could.

My sons love this game. I even purchased another controller to join in the fun and I had a blast playing with them. Mario Bros does it again. 5 stars across the board and fun for the whole family!!!

Great game in the Mario Kart series. This is a deluxe version of Mario Kart 8 that was released for the Wii U. This game has all the great things that make Mario Kart fun. The tracks are great and varied with some popular tracks from older Mario Kart games. Controlling the game works great too. You can use the Joy-Cons, split the Joy-Cons for 2 player, and use the pro controller. They all work great and controlling the kart is responsive and tight. They also include a Smart controller mode which basically helps steer and accelerate, great for younger kids. They will feel they are actually racing and not have to worry about falling off the track. There a lot of content in this game: tracks, racers, different kart mods, and the online play is fun too. This is a must have for the Nintendo Switch!
