This game is fun, I enjoy playing it, but I think I enjoyed MK 7 more. This one does too much hand-holding. It doesnt allow me to fall off the map, and, overall, it seems to be fairly easy compared to version MK 7. I still recommend it. Its fun to play online and I like collecting coins to unlock the various karts. I just feel like the maps were more fun on MK 7. I miss some of them.

This game is so much fun. Takes some getting used to, with how to initiate a big turn and drifting, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll find yourself and your kids playing it for a long time! So many options for racing or battling, and a million choices for cars/tires/characters. Highly recommend!

My sons love this game. I even purchased another controller to join in the fun and I had a blast playing with them. Mario Bros does it again. 5 stars across the board and fun for the whole family!!!

Warning- Fan boy writing a review- I love nintendo. I love mario cart also. I have played all of them. This one was exactly what I expected. I try not to hype myself up for unrealistic things like them making a new game when they have many reviews and have stated exactly what you get with this game. This game is the same as the nintendo WII mario cart with added bonuses, like they added new maps, New Amiibos, New commands, and some other little things. I loved the mario cart on my WII U so I got this one knowing I would also love this one. However, I will give fair cons on this review so people will be not caught off guard. The online mode has issues, the network does go down and I have a very good internet provider. They have also warned people if you want to continue to play online they will be adding a SUB fee in the future. We have no idea how much that will be for. For now though I really like this game, If you can look past those cons and enjoyed the WII U version of this game you should be happy with the switch version as well. GL HF!

This is a solid game to own on the switch, especially if you enjoy multiplayer hang outs, and for the Mario Kart franchise. Ive been playing Mario Kart since the Nintendo 64, and I love the direction they went with this addition. The deluxe has all previously included and dlc characters and stages initially unlocked, which was a surprising amount of content, but I was slightly disappointed that there was not any progression to unlock them periodically. The game itself is very enjoyable and has a very high replayablity value. Playing on one joy-con and giving the other to a friend while playing outside was still loads of fun, but a little straining when you start to add 3 or 4 players to the tablet-sized screen. The graphics on the game were better than I had ever expected, especially while docked onto a 1080p TV. The price should be more reasonable and set to $50 at most, but overall a solid game.

been playing since it came out but lost my old cartridge, so i bought another one here and it works perfectly fine :) game is great i play for hours, super fun with friends

The game is fun, looks awesome, controls are awesome, its Mario Cart! My only complaint is the frequency of items during races. You can be the best cart racer in the world and still lose!!! One minute youre in 1st place perfectly drifting making Zero mistakes. Then bam you get hit by a blue shell, then another blue shell, then maybe a couple of red shells all in a row! You go from 1st, all the way to 5th even 10th all because of things out of your control. The better you race the worst items you get from randomized weapon boxes, meanwhile people in dead last are pumbling you with Shells and other items. I wish there was a game mode where Items werent aloud aside from custom matches. The items make this game unplayable for me, I cant be competitive in a game that screws you for playing well. Seriously.......... what were they thinking with the items? I returned it Ill wait for the next Mario Cart thats more balanced because the weapon/item balancing in this game is atrocious and broken in my opinion. This isnt an exaggeration, go ahead and get it if you dont care about losing because of things that are out of your control. Frustrating, I really wanted to like it, I tried..................
