> 3 dayAbsolutely love this movie. By far, this is Eric Stoltz and Chers greatest movie. Awesome true story, with great actors. Highly recommend it.

> 3 dayI first saw this movie (the original) when I was in highschool, and the theme of wanting to fit in really resonated. Even 25 years later, it can still make me cry, and I watch it anyway, because this movie helps me to remember that life is comprised of both bad and good. To paraphrase: when there are bad times; remember the good times. Cheers.

> 3 dayI originally saw this movie back in 1985 and it really moved me. I just saw it again last night and found it even more touching than the first time. It really taught me a more profound lesson this time, in that society is guilty of judging people purely by looks rather than who they are inside. I, myself am guilty of this to an extent. Mask looks at Rusty Dennis, a seriously disfigured teen, who struggles through life events that most of us take for granted everyday, like going to school without having people stare, or dating. Upon seeing this movie again the symbolism strikes me on a whole new level. Not only does Rocky represent societys judgemental side but so do his biker family members. We all assume that bikers are loser criminals with no emotions but in this film we see just how untrue that can be. They protected him like any real family with love and respect. Special credit goes to the actors portrayal of Dozer, who speaks only a few words in the film but still manages a great performance of heart-felt compassion for Rocky that I found touching. Cher also put in a great performance for this film, as the mother struggling with her own demons, while still exhibiting a deep, protective love for her son. Parents could learn a lesson from her great aptitude for instilling confidence in a child faced against much cruelty in the world. Maybe wed have less school violence then. Finally, on Eric Stoltz, I really think he at least deserved an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Rocky, no easy role to pull off. I worked as an extra on a film set a few years ago and got the chance to meet him. I really wanted to tell him how much I respected his performance in Mask but he pulled one of those star ego trips on the set so I kept my feelings to myself. I guess we have to remember that the actor really is different from the character we see on screen. All the same watch this movie, I guarantee you will take away something positive from it.
