Mastercook 15 Recipe PC

Had used a much older version of MasterCook for years until my laptop totally crashed. Of course, my recipes werent backed up on any removable device.

Great product!

I purchased this item to record and print my recipes. After a great deal of work, I was finally able to get the program to display the recipes as I wanted them displayed. All I wanted was a list of the ingredients over a list of the steps to create the recipe. I also wanted this information in sufficiently large type that I could easily read it. This is not much to ask for, but it took about four hours to create this format. Then, when I went to print the recipe it would not follow the format that I had created. Instead, the program had its own format that was not at all like what I had formatted for the recipes in which it printed the recipe. If I wanted to have my recipes printed in the format I had designed I would need to spend more time formatting the printing template. At that point, I decided I would simply design my own recipe program using Word and Excel. It is much easier and cheaper that MasterCook. Do not waste your money on this product.

I just updated from version 11 to 15. With the latest update from Microsoft of Windows 10, I could not print from version 11. 15 is similar but much more user friendly, and it prints. Importing my old recipes was simple once I figured out where they were stored. Importing from a web recipe is much easier, one click in most cases. I would definitely recommend this product. Perhaps the best part is scaling recipes. Say your recipe is for 4 servings and you want 12, two clicks and you have a print out with ingredients for 12. (I always mess up when scaling unless I write it down.) I have used it for many years, this is my third version. I will continue to use.

I purchased this software because of the rating, supposed to be 4 to 5 stars; I found it very confusing, not user friendly at all and when I finally figured it out then printed one recipe the formatting is awful and you can not change it.

What I didnt like was it would not load on my laptop. Had to have a tech load on thumb drive for it to work.

The current version of this program is Mastercook 2020. One of the very first things it does is ask you to upgrade. Also if you want to use the online features you have to pay into a subscription service.

Meets all my expectations! Love that you can enter recipes directly from the Internet.

After a year of use I learned that to continue use the full features of the program and to access recipes it has stored on line requires an annual subscription. That started out at about $20 per year. A year ago I was shocked when I was notified the annual rates were increasing. Now it is up to $120.00 a year. Highly suggest you do your own research at their web site.
