> 3 daySoftware looks like it was written in the 80s and never updated. Wont let you import recipes from other cookbook programs. As a Software Engineer with over 40 years experience, Id be ashamed to put my name of this package.

Greater than one weekPremise of this software is great. However, the first year I had this all of the recipes I had hand typed into a cookbook that I created disappeared one day. Frustrating, but I figured ok - lets give this another go, it was an unfortunate mistake. Another years worth of recipes and today it happened again. I updated the program, opened it up and saw that my recipes were intact.... until I added one new recipe. Then, all of the recipes are gone and the new one I added was not even there. A completely empty cookbook again. Found the file, tried restoring to a previous version - nothing. Whoever creates this program has no idea how to design software - avoid like the plague.

Greater than one weekI used MasterCook for years as a very happy cook. I think my original version was MasterCook 5. I saved ALL my grandmothers recipes on it. When this version came out it wiped every recipe I had saved for about 20 years from the storage unit. I am very sad. These can never be replaced I WOULD SUGGEST NO ONE BUYS THIS PROGRAM SINCE THEY DO NOT SAVE YOUR RECIPES. There was no respect for my years of work and the importance of saving the family treasures.

> 3 dayA very long time ago I used Mastercook and then switched over to Living Cook because their software was so much easier to utilize. Then came the day when LC disappeared and I had nearly 2K of recipes that I could not access. I read that Mastercook would convert those recipes so I bought it. Big mistake. You have to send your recipes to their customer service department if the conversion process didnt work. It didnt. What a pain!! Then came the problem of trying to simply print out a recipe onto a 5x8 card. The convoluted steps I had to go through for each recipe has completely soured me on Mastercook. The best I could do for printing is portrait and I prefer landscape. I have been so completely disgusted by this software that I no longer try to use it for collecting recipes. Why bother. I just use it for the recipes that do not have nutritional information. So I am once more looking for new software.
