Melissa & Doug Jumbo Numbers Wooden Chunky Puzzle (20 pcs)

It took me quite a while to finally come to the decision to buy this puzzle, because the design looks distracting in the pictures. It arrived this afternoon and the board looks great! Since the board is big and the letters are stroked, my 17-month-old had no problem completing the puzzle on her own even on her first attempt. The puzzle is of excellent quality too! So glad I ordered it!

My son loves it. He is 2.5 and loves numbers and letters. A great educational tool.

The original construction of this puzzle included paint all around the puzzle piece. Now, its just a cheap paper laminate on the top; the remainder of the puzzle piece is compressed cardboard. I called Melissa and Doug directly and asked whether they were still making the high quality version of the board, and she said they had discontinued it. They did offer to refund our money or send us an alternative toy, so that was nice. Ultimately, I kept the alphabet puzzle because its one of the better ones out there. However, I hate how Melissa and Dough cut corners on the new version. Disappointing, and now the pieces are chipping/peeling on the top, which means it looks even worse. Recommendation: Keep an eye out for the better quality version at thrift stores or garage sales. It will hold up better and youll pay less money.

3 kids later had to replace my 5year old Melissa and Doug alphabet puzzle due to a horrible flood. Always great quality.

My 3 year old loves playing with this puzzle still even though she’s had it for a couple of months already! She loves looking at the bright pictures that accompany the puzzle and I love that the puzzle is wooden and durable.

My three year old loves it! Colorful and the letters stand up----others do not. He can spell his name already. The letters are more Clear to see than other alphabet puzzles with too much distraction. Sturdy and well made puzzle.

Our 2-year-olds enjoy it and it cant be hurting the process of learning the alphabet. We dont mind gathering the pieces (to this and a dozen other messy toys) a couple of times a day. All part of a proud parents routine. :)
