> 24 hourI have seven Meross products, and they are all great. This one controls my landscape lighting, and works flawlessly with a HomeKit automation to turn on and off at sunset and sunrise.

> 24 hourOne of the concerns with these low cost smart plugs is whether they can work with a mesh network. A number of people that comment on this topic in these types of threads dont fully understand the issue IMO. The issue is not whether the mesh network supports both 2.4G and 5G. They all do that. The issue is whether the app provided with the Smart Plug can configure the plug to work on your mesh network. The problem is that most mesh networks will broadcast a single SSID for both frequencies. Your phone will connect on 5G but the plug only connects on 2.4G. So when phone pass the config data to the plug there is a mismatch and the plug wont connect. You will see recommendations often to work around this issue like walk far enough away from your mesh network so that your phone connects via 2.4G and then configure. This will work but what a hassle. The other option is to setup a separate router (not mesh) with the same SSID and password on its 2.4G radio. Turn off your mesh network, configure the plug to work with the separate router. Turn off the separate router and then turn the mesh network back on. The plug will then connect to the mesh network. This also works but again what a hassle. The Meross plug successfully connected from my phone app to the mesh network without any special steps. The reason, I believe, is that Meross uses Apple Homekit to configure the device. Apples config process has worked out the issue with the 2.4G and 5G radio incompatibility. I have had been able to configure other HomeKit devices to my mesh network so I believe this is something Apple has solved. It was interesting that the Meross documentation has all kinds of caveats about potential problems with mesh networks but I was able to configure it without any problems. Hope this helps those of you considering whether you can make this work on a mesh network router. BTW, I have Googles mesh network router though I would expect it should work on others as well. Also once I got it configured it has worked flawlessly. 5 stars...

> 24 hourSpent two hours trying to connect this plug with Alexa with no success. Sent it back and ordered the Amazon plug instead ... 5 minutes later I was connected.

> 24 hourCould not use/set up on 5 GHz wifi network. Very few plugs apparently can be used on 5 GHz networks (as of now, anyway)

> 24 hourBought this item for the Christmas tree (misplaced my other smart plug). Worked fine over the holidays, then put it away in January. Pulled it out again this week for something else: connection is spotty, can barely get it set up and once it is set up, HomeKit isnt able to keep it online.

> 24 hourIve been in the smart home game for about 3.5 years now and have used multiple Wemo Smart plugs as well as Amazons own Smart plug to automate various things in my house via Alexa. I came to know the Meross company from their smart garage door opener that I use everyday and love. They offer tremendous value on products that either meets or beats the competition in terms of features. This Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini is no exception. Lets see how it stacks up against the Wemo and Amazons Smart Plug. PRICE: As of this review (9/30/20), Wemo is $18/ea on Amazon. Amazon Smart Plug is $25/ea. Meross Smart Plug is $11.59. In my case, I got the 4pk for $37 so even cheaper per unit. Winner is clear. CONNECTIVITY: Amazon smart plug - works only with Alexa. Wemo - Works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit. Meross - Works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, Nest Hub, SmartThings. Again, winner is clear. FORM-FACTOR: Meross smart plug is the smallest of the three. All three of these will allow you to plug two into one set of single-gang outlets. However, due to the width of the Amazon and Wemo smart plugs, your double-gang outlets will be covered and rendered useless (See pictures). Not the case with Meross, you can still use the adjacent outlets! SET-UP: Smart home tech is getting so smart now that the set-up process keeps improving. I believe its fairly easy and straight forward to set up all three so itll be a tie. EASE-OF-USE: I mostly use control these plugs via Alexa and they all work like theyre designed so again, its a tie. CONCLUSION: The Meross small size combined with its myriad of connectivity options all at a hard to beat price makes it the clear winner here. Smart tech is finally affordable. My first Wemo cost me $35 back in 2017.

> 24 hourI was lured to this smart plug by the Siri compatibility. Wouldnt it be great to tell Siri to turn on the lights? Im Not a fan of always listening devices. Unfortunately this only works on 2.4 ghz. If you have a current-day router with 2.4 and 5.0 ghz the set up process is ridiculous. And Im pretty sure you can then only connect to the router from your iPhone on 2.4 ghz if you want to control the smart plug. Ive never seen this limitation with another IOT device. Terrible design. Returning to Amazon now.

> 24 hourI had old Wemos (bought before Home app and a code to scan) that wouldnt update after hours so removed them from Homekit and ordered one Meross plug. I had read that some people had issues with 2.4/5 Ghz of Eero so went to Eero settings and turned off 5 for 15 min. I had one error--sure because I scanned and didnt get in plug to power fast enough (too hard to reach to scan after inserting in plug). I tried again through Homekit, scanned, plugged in quickly, a few minutes at most and connected-added to the correct room in Homekit and named it. Checked turning on and off via Homepods--works great, just like before-or in Homekit. Am ordering another for a different room. I would recommend if all you need is smart plug. I will add automation for the other one. House is redone completely but 116 YO so its not very amenable to Smart Home so this is my one foray into Smart Home LOL (aside from ATVs and Homepods)
