> 3 dayI bought the 4 pack of the Meross Wi-Fi Smart Plug Mini to be able to turn off my four 3d printers when they are done printing but it is Christmas time so first I put them to work on my Christmas decorations and trees. All I have to do is say Alexa turn off Christmas lights and all my lights go off before going to bed. The app is very easy to use and Alexa intergration is simple to set up. I have many different brands of smart plugs and the Meross are right there at the top of the list.

> 3 dayThis is great that it’s heavy duty to run my 1500 watt space heater, which it said it can operate up to 1800 watts. Only downfall or I at least having found on plug options is to “ turn off after certain amount of time has past”. All my other smart plugs have that option.

> 3 dayWhat drew me to these versus some other smart outlets was the ability to understand where they are installed geographically and plan a schedule based on sunrise or sunset. Anytime Ive used timers Ive constantly had to modify the times. Is it daylight savings time or not? Is it winter or summer? This smart outlet lets you create a scheduled based on sunrise or sunset. You can select sunrise or sunset then set an event time before or after that up to 11h 59m from that point in time. Activate right at sunset, no problem. Activate 23 m after sunset, no problem. Activate 3h 17m before sunset, no problem. Basically you have full control. Auto off after X minute events can be scheduled. Combined with sunrise/sunset you have very flexible control. Events can be schedule for a specific day of the week or all days, or some days of the week. The schedules you set can easily be enabled or disabled with a simple toggle on/off. When you travel. enable the scheduled events, when you return, disable it until next time with a flick of a finger. Both features were missing with other smart outlets Ive used. With previous outlets you could only delete a scheduled event to disable it. When it was time to need it again, I had to re-create it. They also didnt have sunset or sunrise features, you had to use a specific time and you had to modify it as seasons changed. I was able to create a scene that would turn all outlets off with a tap, or on with a tap. Scenes could include all or some devices. The setup using the built-in wifi was a little more difficult compared to the two other smart outlets Ive used. This was a little frustrating but it seemed to work better if you remained very close (a few feet) from the outlet during initial installation. It takes a few minutes so if you plan it properly and use an outlet convenient to remaining close by for several minutes you might experience less frustration than I did. All four of mine needed a firmware update that wasnt forced but was easy to install. I do not have Alexa or Google Assistant but it claims to integrate with them. I use mine without integration, simply using the app for all features.

> 3 dayI originally bought the smart plugs to control my Christmas lights in my windows. Installation was uber easy with the app and the plugs work flawlessly. They worked so well that about two more to control my lava lamp and plasma ball.

> 3 dayAlexa is failing. New plugs only work when Alexa is operational

> 3 dayIve installed and used many different brands of Wi-Fi devices over the years. The Meross brand has done the best job designing and programming their Wi-Fi line of products. They are well made and most importantly, installation instructions are clear, they install easily, and stay connected reliably. Dont waste your money on plugs that make you struggle to get them connected. These are 15A plugs so they work with just about everything and set up is easy with the Meross App or the ubiquitous SmartThings app. I look for the Meross brand whenever I buy electronics that would benefit from being Wi-Fi enabled. And no, I dont work for Meross. Im usually looking for the best prices, but with Wi-Fi products, Im willing to pay a little more for easy reliable connectivity!

> 3 dayMy wireless router is the newer style that selects 2.4 or 5 GHz automatically. This can be a problem when you have a 2.4 GHz device but no way of choosing that bandwidth exclusively. Your phone must be using the 2.4 at the time that you try to set up the plug via Bluetooth. When your 5 GHz signal becomes weak your phone will automatically switch over to the 2.4 GHz bandwidth. I tried to weaken the signal by covering the router with a foil lined box and going as far away but still within Bluetooth distance of the plug that I was trying to set up but I didn’t have any luck trying this with my iPhone. I did have an old Moto E5 cruise that easily connected to the 2.4 bandwidth so that made set up really easy. I connected the plug to my wireless via Bluetooth and then moved the plug to where I was going to use it. After plugging back in it automatically reconnected so I don’t know what is up with other reviews that mention after power outages you have to reconfigure. I have not had to do this.
