This smart plug works great with our Alexa. I bought a few as Christmas gifts as I’ve had mine for a year and use it daily. Alexa turns on my lamps every day from 6-11 with this smart plug linked to her app. Instructions are easy to follow to download the outlet app and quickly sink to Alexa. The 3 outlets on the right side are smart plugs and the 3 outlets on the left are just regular additional outlets that are not smart plugs. When I ordered I thought all 6 were smart plugs with surge protector so planned to initially use with all our TV and gadgets so just know it’s only 3/6 that are smart. The 3 usb charging ports are great for guests to charge their phones. I haven’t had issues with having to ever reset or sync with power outages and things. It stays connected and synced whenever the power returns which is an added bonus. We’ve had smart bulbs that we’ve had to resync when unplugged or loss of power and that’s a pain.

Although it accepts power cords that require a three prong grounded connector, the actual strip is NOT using the outlets ground! WTF!? I reconfirmed on different outlets incase there was an issue at my outlet. The only way I found out was because I plugged in a tester to check to ensure the smart feature were working and the tester showed that it wasnt grounded! This is not safe... Im still keeping it because I got it on sale and its cheap, but super important not to utilize it for anything that does need a ground. Two stars because the smart feature work well.

The plug works well and was fairly easy to use, minus the app being a little difficult at first. I love the option to use the outlet for lights and fans when I am away from my home. I didnt realize that only 3 plugs are smart and the USBs work as one single smart outlet. It is also difficult to fit 3 plugs in a vertical row, so expect to only use 4 plugs at one time and the USB ports. Overall, good product, and I will likely be buying more (probably single smart plugs) for my new home.

You have to get their app, which requires all kinds of location data, photos, and wants to push adds for something that should require none of it. I have both 2.4 and 5 networksSays you must connect to 2.4. Tried multiple times after creating an account, then following instructions that said fast blinking to link, then slow blinking contradiction. Unplugged, reset, tried multiple times both manual and automatic with no luck. I suspect mine is defective, and would get it replaced and try again but I found one that works with the alexa app, and does not require a 3rd party account and unnecessary authorizations and data collection.

Does exactly what is expected of it. Have multiple Alexa timed items and several non smart items plugged into this surge and they work flawlessly.

PROS: The form factor is good for those not wanting a power strip on a cable. Three controllable outlets plus a bank of 3 USB-A charging ports are handy. CONS: After a few months, the strip has started to react to Alexa endpoint checks, and turns the outlets off, then back on after a moment. This used to happen occasionally, perhaps once a night. Now this power toggle happens randomly 6-10 times in an evening. I have reached out to Gosund support, with no response after a few days.

First off, functionally I had no issues with this smart plug and has performed well in the time Ive had it. Aside from that, getting it to a point of being functional was quite a chore. The minimal documentation included was barely adequate but provided clues to setting up the app. Registration is required to do anything and if I were to rate that alone, it would be one star. Register on my phone? No. Register on my tablet? No. Register on my computer? Not quite. It actually took trial and error and then a combination to create an account. (I would think this would be the easy part so I would consider buying more of your product Gosund.) App installed (finally) and with that came the tedious task of actually connecting the smart plug to it. Again, documentation is quite poor. What it didnt tell me was that I had to be in near darkness in order to see the indicator blinking. Needless to say I wasted a lot of time trying to get the dang thing to blink in normal lighting conditions. Other things that the documentation doesnt tell you... you have more switches in the app than what are available on the device. I had 5 for a three outlet switch. (6 outlets but three are always on.) One of the extra is for all three switchable outlets and the other extra is to turn off the USB charging ports. And since it doesnt tell you which is which, its more trial and error for you to get the name right. The USB ports also have a light to indicate they are getting power but its only slightly more visible in normal lighting so if youre checking them, best do it in a dark room. Once connected, the app seems to work fine for turning the switches on/off. I would like to point out that the app appears to be one big, and quite unnecessary, advertisement. The plug functions are buried. somewhere.... and what appears to likely be a design error or change, the switchable plugs are on the right-hand side of the outlet (looking at it) and not on the left as the documentation and app depicts. Each switchable outlet has its own LED to indicate its on/off status. The LED on the non-switchable side never turns off. The app does have schedule and countdown capabilities like other smart plugs for remedial scheduling. In relative terms, it was fairly easy to add the skill to Alexa. While it was tedious, it was nowhere near as difficult as setting up the app. Be warned there are two places to change the names of the switches but you have to edit the name in the smart plug screen for Alexa to recognize the new name. (The other names are apparently ignored.) I have only done remedial on/off with Alexa at this time but it does function. Overall I will be avoiding Gosund products based simply on the poor app usability and documentation.
