Mini Smart Plugs and Smart Outlet Extender

Works excellent but the setting up was a little difficult

Barely fits on the wall because of white plastic thing. Its very annoying and makes me feel anxiety if the outlet gets on fire

I purchased this one and was happy enough to buy a 2nd one just a week later. Works as expected but like almost all smart devices you need to be able to connect to 2.4ghz wifi. This has nothing to do with your 5g phone. I think I sense some confusion in the folks that rated this a 1 star. I see the biggest complaint with most people is the app. I use the smartlife app which works with most items that originally came from China. You probably dont need a bunch of proprietary apps. Smartlife does not have much in the way of ads. And as most apps, (when it askes) just tell it to not notify you if you dont want the constant updates. Everything defaults to wanting to notify you of any and everything, annoying. The 2nd thing is connecting. If the automated fast blinking is not seeing your device then choose slow blink mode when you reset it which turns on the devices local wifi connection. You should then see it as a wifi connection choice. So the steps would be, tell the app what device you are connecting, select which wifi for the device to connect to then connect to the devices wifi connection and the app should do the rest. The app allows you to control the 3 smart sockets on the device as well as another to turn the USBs on or off. The USBs are connected as 1, either all on or all off. The other 3 plugs are just on, not controlled.

Maybe it just where I have it located, but it loses the wifi signal frequently which is annoying. I have to physically unplug the unit and plug in again and pair it again. Otherwise, I would give it 5 stars.

This unit was reasonably easy to set up, and I like the fact that it has both wifi controlled and regular always on plugs. For where I placed it the the USB ports on top had little value, but I can see where they might be useful. Especially for a beside plug. My problem is that the unit failed within 3 months. This is outside the Amazon return period. I contacted the manufacturer and they told me to go talk to Amazon. So a waste of $20+.

I love gosund products I have a few other smart plugs and they are all great, but this one goes offline at least once a week and I have tried all the troubleshooting on their help page and the only thing that works is unplugging it and plugging it back in, which is annoying. Other than that it works great and was easy to set up. **UPDATE** It now goes offline at least twice a week which is incredibly annoying

App hasnt connected for me the past 2 times i have tried to set it up. Had an issue with one of the devices plugged into it, a PC, losing power and hard shutting down. Checked windows event viewer and it doesnt seem to be a hardware issue, and said issue stopped when i put the PC behind a separate surge protector that is plugged into the same port on this device as my PC was plugged into. USB ports on top are nice to have, device only uses a single plug into the double outlet that it covers, could be designed to use both which possibly would help with the issue i was having listed above. Only 3 ports can be controlled with the app, if you can even get the app to work. I wouldnt recommend this product with so many other options at this price point, but not something i would return due to the issues i have with it.

This device plugs into the wall outlet via one normal plug and a blank plastic plug at the bottom to stabilize the device. It could use power from the second outlet or just use this as a pass through. Instead they give you three wifi switchable outlets and three non switchable (always on) outlets. All supplied by one outlet. The device can use better lighting around the power button. It was hard to see the pairing light but I was able to pair it after turning the lights in the room off to make sure I was in the right pairing mode. Minus these two hiccups (personal opinions) the device after a few months of almost daily use the smart outlet still works as stated and has never failed to operate within its stated parameters. Just dont plug in a high powered receiver as I did (forgot the wattage rating) which caused brown outs as soon as the bass hit hard at a very high volume. Which was to be expected when operating as not intended by the manufacturer.
