> 3 dayI noticed that the floor of our shower was becoming quite slippery. once installed correctly these provide a great deal of safety in case of slipping while showering. These are not held by suction. It is necessary to discover exactly where the wall studs are located before drilling pilot holes through the shower wall. I had ordered 24 grab bars. I installed one of them diagonally so that each end could be screwed into studs which are 16 apart. I installed the second bar straight up and down screwing both ends into the same stud. Excellent product when installed correctly.

> 3 dayThe grab bar itself is sturdy and works as expected; however, the screws that came with the bar are not. The provided phillips head screws strip out very easily and will probably rust if calk is not applied. I recommend buying SPAX 2 1/2 inch (or longer) screws. SPAX screws have a combination drive so you can use either a phillips head screwdriver or a square head screwdriver. They are also self tapping. I like the square head as it drives better with less stripping out than the phillips head. Each screw is rated to hold 85 pounds. Also, the instructions call for calking around the screws after you drive them in; thus, you need to buy calking before you set out to install the bar. Using outdoor screws, such as stainless steel, might avoid having to use calk; although the screws themselves will be more expensive. The outdoor stainless screws should also hold more weight. There are other screws that are much like the SPAX and would work fine. The screws that came with the bar not only strip out easily, they must rust (thus the need for calk), and they are not self tapping. That is why I reduced the rating of the bar by one star. It seems to me a first class bar should provide first class screws, screws designed to be used in wet conditions. AD2

> 3 dayWe measured wrong, and it was too big. We were very busy with the new bathtub surround that we didnt return it in time. Upset about the short return period because it wasnt cheap. Still in bag/box.

> 3 dayThese are stainless steel throughout, with covers that click over the mounting plates. It comes with 6 Phillips head screws (three used on each end). I would have given this 5 stars, but the screws that Moen provides are inappropriate. Admittedly, I was using a driver to put these into ancient southern heart pine, which is a pretty hard wood. These appear to have #2 Phillips heads on them (the shipped screws are on the right side in the photo). In every case I tried to run these, the heads stripped out - and that was with a good #2 (also tried #1) phillips driver bit and 200 lbs of me attempting to hold the bit in the screw head. No dice. Really, for a screw this large and long that is intended for a weight bearing application, a #2 head is too small. They should have shipped these with something more like the packaged screws on the left in the photo - 5/16 nut head. A nut driver (manual or with an electric driver) wont pop off of those heads! The screws I chose were a little shorter, but plenty long enough in my particular application into that ancient southern heart pine, but longer might be necessary for a standard sheet rock over soft pine stud installation. Moen! Include better screws!

> 3 dayworks nicely although it could use just a bit more texture on the grip finish.
