> 24 hourI have always wanted one because I am bad about keeping up with papers and was hoping this would help. Customer Service Sux. I have not found away to actually talk to them. I did find a Face Book page and also found I maybe the only one on it. I asked my question any way with no response. I can not get the software to connect to the Unit to build my build my Files on my CPU. Finally accidentally found away to get it to drop into my drop Box so that will work just as good, even though I am not getting full use. Hell I couldnt even find an email address for Support that would have worked too as long as they respond right away. I do see a Warranty card so I do not know if it has a Warranty of for how long. I do not like the 3 month trail for neat cloud and dont know if I can take it off and point to something else. I still like the Idea but I am disappointed and it did not come cheep.

> 24 hourInitially this worked great. It really helped me to go paperless and move everything to the cloud...until a couple of months ago it stopped being able to upload to Evernote. Apparently a lot of people are having the same problem because the discussion boards are full of some really upset people. The company isnt very good at communicating what they are doing to fix the problem or if they are doing anything to fix the problem. Emails to them only generate canned responses.

> 24 hourThe concept behind this neat scanner is excellent. Execution is somewhat lacking.. The keyboard entry has many problems. When you push one letter a different letter will show up on the screen, sometimes a letter push bounces that is to say you will push ones and get two or more letters. That is my major complaint. Otherwise I feel the unit does a good job and is a good early effort in the sophisticated scanning market.

> 24 hourI have really enjoyed using the NeatConnect, as it has definitely made my life easier, especially with regard to scanning receipts. It worked beautifully until a couple of weeks ago, when the scans began to blur in the middle of the scan. I contacted customer service and they promptly began to advise me on different ways to fix the issue. However, the scanner could not be fixed. They have already sent out a replacement at no cost. Thank you, Neat, for standing behind your product! It was a pleasure to work with the customer service department.

> 24 hourWe purchased this scanner with high hopes, which were set from doing a LOT of investigation into scanners of this sort. But, Neat won out against the competitors, because it claimed to be the best at integrating with QuickBooks Online. It did integrate but it was more like using Dropbox and a regular old scanner than anything special, as the marketing would suggest it is. Also, our scanner broke a couple of months later. And, it could never hook up to the internet...not once...ever. Because we not only were sold a lie, but also the machine never worked right and now is truly just broken, we contacted Neat. We dont want the machine. It is worthless. They will not help us. We bought it through Amazon, so they blame Amazon. But, this is not appropriate as #1. it is a Neat problem, #2 it wasnt an Amazon product - it was a Neat product (sold by Neat thru Amazon). Then, they said its been too long. We only had 1 month to make a decision if it was worth it. Ridiculous. I want my money back. It was a bad sale and isnt making anyone happy and Neat customer service is doing nothe

> 24 hourI should have known better. I had the earlier version of Neat and it also performed poorly, but at least it worked. I called Neat to ask about their updates and they told me this new model is a much better concept. Well, its not. The touch screen worked for about 3 weeks, now it might work every few days if I keep turning it on and off. Unfortunately it looks like I am stuck with this $500 paperweight because I missed the return date. What a disappointment. I would NOT recommend this product.

> 24 hourNeat company has some serious haters or competitors are writing bad reviews for them, I hope last is not a case as wouldnt be ethical for anybody to do that, so Ill give you guys my experiance with Neat products as I tried them all I think, OK maybe not all but I tried 3 different models. So here you go. I have been running paperless office for at least last 5 years. We have been scanning everything and I have in-depth knowledge and understanding of this scanners. It all started with a NeatReceipts scanner that we started scanning receipts for tax purposes. Not long after we realized that NeatReceipts scanner is way to slow and moved to NeatDesk. We started using NeatWorks back then on a PC and it was OK process not the best but we ware OK with it, then couple years later we switched all office to Mac environment and had to re-license NeatWorks for Macs, that was relatively easy process but I wanted to talk to someone at Neat to make sure that years of data we entered will be easily transferred. At that time I was for a first time faceing Neat customer support. I wasnt able to get much of the phone support but I was provided with excellent email support. Not ideal as talking to somebody over the phone is always more encouraging. In any case there was a little bit of learning curve on the Mac version but we realized that NeatWorks for Mac was scanning and OCR processing much much quicker then PC version, so we fell in love with it quickly. Then year or so ago they came up with NeatCloud and we thought that would be a good idea as would eliminate a need from us to keep making backups and worrying of storing it offsite. NeatCloud actual works pretty good as you can email receipts to it or any other documents you want to keep digital copies of for archiving. So we are VERY happy with it and cant really imagine keeping truck of all expenses without it. Last and a half we also connected couple Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 to NeatCloud and that has been working great but we found that Fujitsu are not build to last, yes they ware little bit faster then older NeatWorks but they pretty much died in little less then 2 years. So we now are switching back to Neat and found this new NeatConnect. Typically I would prefer regular scanner hat is simply connected to computer and without touch screen etc But let me tell you this was a refreshing surprise. It works seamlessly with NeatCloud without being connected to computer, fast and easy. Now I like this idea as I can simply scan receipts in bundles and then process them in NeatCloud on my leisure as all of them are going to be waiting in a INBOX folder for further processing. I like this a lot as its much faster and fits my workflow much better. Now the touchscreen is not really a smartphone quality but is decant, it dose a job, I wish soft keyboard for emailing the scan that pops up on the bottom of the screen (same as would on a smartphone) is little bit larger as I find it difficult to type, but again its doable, not perfect but dose a job. All in all, this is a great scanner so far, I hope that lasts longer then Fujitsu scanners, that all Im asking for. The old NeatWorks lasted quite a few years so as long as its that kind of quality or better, Im a happy camper. I know there are people out there that are happy with Fujitsu and if you are looking at reviews you will find much better reviews at Fujitsu iX500, I liked that scanners while they work, but again I found them defaulting on us often and thats not cool. Also software that comes with Fujitsu is bad, when we purchased it didnt even have mac version of archiving software, I havent looked since to see if they developed mac software but we ware pretty invested in to NeatCloud with all the time and years of scanned we are storing there that I really do not looking forward to moving to anything else. Summary: I like this new NeatConnect scanner, in whole honesty I cant imagine doing receipt tracking for bookkepping purposes any other way so its surprising to me to see people not happy with it and these bad reviews I cant justify as fair. Oh one more piece of info, I run 2 busy businesses, so data archiving I was mentioned is for both businesses and also my personal expenses. Hope this helps.

> 24 hourUPDATE: I have now had it for about two years! I love it. You do have to pay extra for the storage on neat desk but I just have my files go directly to my dropbox or email address as pdf instead. It is great for my real estate documents, saving warranty papers etc. My fax/scanner/copier is so much slower and will not handle near the workload of this scanner. I am very happy that I have it and although it was pricy I probably would have spent a lot more trying to find other scanners to match the speed. It is small, easy to set up and you can move it around if that makes your life easier. I usually just keep mine in the study but I could put it by the mail or other areas that I use frequently. TIP: When doing documents like real estate contracts of 20plus pages you can reduce to 150dpi and are able to fit in a pdf file that emails can handle. If you scan larger files they get kicked out. Still alot more than you could have ever done with a multi machine and at very fast speeds. CONS: I havent found it to be awesome with photos. I mean I may not be doing it correctly but I think my HP multi machine does better in that aspect. I have both so it really isnt an issue for me. The buttons on the screen alpha numeric are tiny. I have skinny fingers but I still use a stylus to set up email addresses. Once set up and in address books it is much easier. FIRST WEEK REVIEW BELOW: Have had it a week and so far I love it. It is easy to scan in. Had a couple glitches where it would need to be turned on then back on to see paper but Im sure Ill figure that out. Easy to set up wifi in my office and portable enough to take home and use as well. Have done photos and paperwork, receipts and business cards with easy so far.

> 24 hourFast scan. Good quality. No computer to worry about for my wife. Just scan and file the .pdfs later when you have time. E-mail or to the cloud. But, the keyboard on the screen is too small and is very hard to type correctly, so it is cumbersome to type in an e-mail address. Also, the paper sometimes gets stuck and doesnt feed well into the machine. Just straighten the paper back out and re-feed.

> 24 hourThis was a great product combined with the Neat Receipts desktop software and the they decided to water it down with forcing users to use Neat Cloud. This is a case of good company too arrogant for their own good. The last desktop version is slim down of neat cloud. Here are the top issues. 1. No, you cannot use files created by previous versions. Have to import everything. 2. The software fails to scan and OCR a single document, yes just 1 page document 3. Ah the import, does not work. It may show something imported but no psd files 4. There is is no way you can add custom columns to see complete information. You have to open each individual line item and fill in the fields. That too has limitations as all the fields are not visible and you have to click again to open that view. Now why would you take a functional in-line editing and make adding I formation almost impossible. 5. You cannot add one note or some times one drive could account b/c they keyboard never shows up. I loved this software and my neat scanner since it was a useful tool to run my business. I would gladly pay subscription fee as well but at least there should be some useful functionality. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone who wants to get any work done.
