NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Plus Switch (GS308E) - Desktop or Wall Mount, Home Network Hub, Office Ethernet Splitter, Silent Operation, Black

This is my second unit and I am happy with both. They are well built and they are quite reliable. I purchased my first one about two years ago and it never failed me, so when my needs evolved, I bought a second one. The only thing I do not like is the fact that the ports (with their corresponding lights) face forward. This feature makes it convenient to connect the network cables, but they do not look neat if the unit is placed on a shelf since the cables need to be bent and run over the unit towards the back if you do not want them to hang from the front. Other models have the ports on the back and the lights on the front, but they are more expensive, so I chose this one instead.

I raised the internet speed in my house up to 500 MBS, but all the wired items show no speed increase. Then I figured out that my ethernet switch managed up to 100 MBS only. I change my switch to the NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet and WUALAA, now Im happy.

I use two of these and both are perfect. Highly recommend.

I ordered this switch when I upgraded to the eeos router system. The eeos only has one ethernet port and I have to older systems and a Laser printer that are not Wifi. I was not disappointed. The setup was easy and everything worked as advertised. I am a happy camper.

I needed this switch to get more ethernet ports in an open room space. I went with Netgear because of Brand recognition and was not disappointed, Easy to setup, true Plug and play, strong metal build. Got speed as advertised, still going strong after almost two years of use.

Easy to use eight port switch. Been a year or so. Am content as of now, but I did not expect any warranty support from day one. Guess Im lucky.

I upgraded from 100mbp FIOS to 300mbps but my Xbox download speed still sucked. I had forgotten I had a 100Mbps switch in between the router and the Xbox. A few dollars and a few days this Gigabit switch arrived and I was back up to full speed in no time.

Like the title says, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist or IT engineer to install this for your home network. Really nice and sleek design.

Well, this thing already has 18,000 5-star reviews so Im not sure what else I can add. It Works great! Not sure if my review will matter, but it deserves 5 stars or more, so why not leave a review.... Power supply included. Just plug it in, plug in one line from you router to any port, and plug all your other stuff into any other empty port. Thats it. Could not be any easier. And only $20!!
