I trust Netgear product in general. My old device ran for long time, maybe ten years. Several instances happened in my home network. It looked like to be instability of the switch. But after I replaced it with this new one, my network problem remained. So it was not the switch at all. But I am keeping the new one.

This is a pretty simple to use, and its pretty sleek looking. Plug it in, hook your Ethernet from the WiFi into the first slot and Ethernet cables to your devices in the next 7.

Used this to replace a 5 port cheaper switch that ran out of ports , it works well and is sturdy

This is my go-to ethernet switch. I use several switches of this model throughout my house to supply all rooms with gigabit ethernet connections. These switches are critical since nearly everyone works from home now. Only an old 5-port Netgear switch has ever failed, and even then it was probably because I wasnt using any sort of UPS or surge protector. So I cant really blame it all that much. But since using UPSs on all critical electronics, they have never again failed.

Recently I upgraded my service to 1gbit. My WiFi card maxes out around 350mbit, so I needed to run an ethernet cable. Only issue is the only drop I had was in the next room going to another device. So I turned that drop into a backhaul by plugging it into this switch. It now feeds 2 devices and on my PC I am easily able to hit the full 1gbit speeds. Cat6a cable all the way from my PC to the router. Device is low power and doesnt get hot which is a plus. Though I did notice a high pitched noise when no devices were attached and the device first powered up. Seems to have gone away after being powered for some time with devices connected. So far no complaints with this switch.

I had an older 8-channel ethernet switch which seemed to have occasional dropouts. It was also running warm. This was truly plug and play. I did not have to anything other than plug it into an AC outlet then plug in the ethernet cables and it worked as it was supposed to.

We bought this for our Starlink Satelite but it didnt solve the Star Link router problems. (not the fault of the switch)

Nice little hub. But should have bought the NetGear GS316P hub with POE+ (power over ethernet) as I plan on installing a few security cameras. Will still be able to use this one though. Currently hooked up, streaming TV, Xbox, and a couple desktop computers... A Synology NAS is next. This little NetGear hub works great
