She took an hour and a half long sand bath digging around in there. She has never been this enthusiastic about baths but she really loves this!

I bought this to replace just a regular glass baking dish I was using (it was much smaller). I found this item to be perfect and just what I was looking for. My hammy (winter white) loves it! He has plenty of room to roll around and groom himself than he did with the other sand bath I had started with. The sand bath comes apart and so it makes it easy to wipe off the lid with a napkin or even dustpan brush when they get bedding or sand on top of it. It also makes it easy to clean the inside of the container and scoop out any poops or pees he makes (he also uses it as a potty spot). The half lid is suppose to ensure your hammy has some privacy and comfort when they groom themselves but I found it wasn’t enough for him. So I added grapevine wood and flat corklog pieces around it and that seemed to fix just the problem of him being uncomfortable. The package was also delivered in good condition. And the packaging overall ensured the product was safely tucked in to prevent any cracks or any other damages to the item itself. The only “downside” is that it’s a bit pricey. But again, it’s an investment and if you don’t mind and are capable to spend extra money for an item like this, do so. Otherwise you can easily go to the thrift stores or dollar stores and get glass baking dishes or plastic containers for them and use that as a sand bath. Just be sure it’s large enough for them to roll around and also fit a hide in it so they have privacy and feel comfortable and safe!

After months of not being in stock and finally snagging one, the acrylic arrived broken...

Love that it’s acrylic, makes it so much easier to clean vs a wooden sand bath.

Great little sand bath, although not little enough to fit in every cage. It is quite tall and the entry is at the top, so if you have a cage that has the floor space but not much of a height to it, this sand bath might not fit. Beautifully done though, I would have liked it very much if it did fit.

I have 2 separeted Sryian hamsters. Both of them have one. I do not use the cover because Syrians are big. Cover might be good for a dwarf. I put all natural repti sand in it. One hamster uses it as a bathroom. Other likes to walk and sit in it. Easy to wash when it needs it.

I have a large hamster habitat. There’s no assembly other than to pop the lid on. My hamsters never bathed in the sand but use it constantly as their ladies room. Definitely saves the amount of time between cleaning and because they use this easy to clean acrylic litter box like a kitty, their bedding doesn’t smell! Win win!

Long as my hamster uses her sand bath, I am very happy.

    Greater than one week

This sand bath fits into corners perfectly. But the edges on the top where the hamster climbs into the bath need to be rounded. The two edges on that portion of the bath are at a right angle and theyre quite sharp. My hamster fell into these edges and cut his back. He luckily recovered after about a week. But I had to stop using the bath because I didnt want him to be injured again. I cant recommend this bath because of this major flaw. The manufacturer could easily modify their processes to properly round at least the edges where the hamster climbs into the bath. That would likely be enough to keep a hamster that falls onto these edges from being injured. If youre using this for your hamster, I would stop using it and switch to a ceramic bowl with rounded edges. Doing so will keep your hamster from being injured in the same manner as mine. This bath would be AWESOME if they fix this one issue. But I certainly cannot recommend it as is.
