I have 2 separeted Sryian hamsters. Both of them have one. I do not use the cover because Syrians are big. Cover might be good for a dwarf. I put all natural repti sand in it. One hamster uses it as a bathroom. Other likes to walk and sit in it. Easy to wash when it needs it.

My hamster LOVES this thing. She loves to bath and roll around in it and also use a small area as her bathroom. Makes cleaning the cage a less frequent task and when i do need to clean the cage, it’s super fast and easy because most of it is in the sand bath!

My hamster loves her sand bath, she rolls in her sand multiple times a day and seems to feel very secure hiding under the lid portion of the bath.

At first, I didn’t want to buy it for the price, but it’s so worth it because it’s really good quality, it’s big, and my hamster LOVES IT! (ㅅ’ ˘ `)♡

Dwarf hamster would struggle a little to get out if you’re only putting ~2” of sand. Acrylic is thick and doesn’t feel cheap.

A great way to keep the sand in a particular area instead of it getting all over the crate! My gerbil uses it every day and absolutely loves it.

I ordered this for my hamster as he use to get his sand in the middle of the cage and I would make a circle with the apple stick bridges like an arena for him but he always made a gigantic mess. I finally ordered this after trying bowls and he will still dig and make a huge mess. I like that it’s enclosed with the top and he digs it won’t fly everywhere. He is a bit chunky and large and has a hard time getting in, he sometimes digs deep enough to make himself fit. Or i reduce the amount of sand but he likes to dig and when I do he gets to the bottom and uses the bathroom and it’s harder to clean. But it’s better than my old way! I recommend.

I also have the rectangle one. I am putting eco earth in that one and sand in this one. If you are on the fence about which one to get, get them all. But I think my Syrian like the corner one the most.
