Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2X NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans (Brown)

Greater than one weekPurchased after owning a Corsair AIO, Ive owned this thing for 3 years now. First, over-cooling an I7-4790K and now keeping a 3950x happy. This thing is better than an AIO cooler IMHO because sitting beside a 360mm AIO, they are just about the same noise level. The kicker is that the Noctua sits deep in the case, so when installed, its quieter than an AIO! Even with Ryzen Autoclock +200 or PBO, the Ryzen never never throttles! This thing quells my thirst for a HTPC level of quiet sitting inside my [[ASIN:B00AZQTZFU Fractal XL R2] case.

> 3 dayThe two Noctua fans are worth the price of admission. The quiet... oh the blissful quiet while I run my games on ultra settings. Install is straightforward. Yay!

> 3 dayIf you do any kind of 3D rendering, skip this product and get a water cooler.

> 3 dayIts big, but it always keeps the CPU at low temperatures. Its also whisper quiet and moves enough air that it cools the entire motherboard, not just the CPU. The fans were a little finicky to get positioned, and the installation manual wasnt 100% clear, but we figured it out.

Andy M,
> 3 dayI like this D15 cooler and have used it on two builds now. The only problem is that its *huge*. Be aware that even though the height is listed as 165mm, there is a chance that the fans will interfere with the DDR4 memory modules or a large VRM heatsink; you may have a problem. While it is easy to shift the fans a bit to clear the memory or VRM sink, this increases the overall height of the cooler assembly. On this build, I had that problem but luckily was using a case (Fractal Design Define R5) which has 180mm max cooler height - I needed it all. Consider getting a roomy case like this, and/or memory that is shorter in height - some memory has lighting effects (dont quite understand the value of that but ok) that increases the memory module height. Thermal performance of this cooler is really good; this is a great alternative if you (like me) dont like water cooling systems (will leak sooner or later). Some sources do not list the Noctua NH-D15 as ok for the LGA1200 cpu socket, but the hardware that came with mine fit perfectly.

> 3 dayI was entirely skeptical at first, not quite sure what to expect when replacing my stock cooler with this, but I knew that it had to be done, as my stock cooler couldnt keep my Intel i7-6700 from thermal throttling, so I knew it was long overdue to at least give it a shot. After a case upgrade (since this new cooler also didnt fit into the existing case), Ive dropped my full load temps from 100 Celsius down to at maximum around 60 Celsius with the machine not even giving a second thought. With such a solid unit, this is definitely worth the investment, as for most end users youll never have to give your cooler a second thought in the future.

> 3 dayDer Noctua NH-D15 kühlt meinen Intel I7-6700k mühelos ohne großartig etwas dafür zu tun. Während der Lüfter sich gerade einmal dreht hält er meine CPU bei etwa 37°C(bei einer Raumtemperatur von 21°C). Durch meine speziell eingestellte Lüfterkurve im BIOS erreicht der Lüfter auch nie die maximale Drehzahl, was er auch nicht nötig hat da er die CPU immer schön kalt hält.

> 3 dayI had a i7-6700K processor with a H100i v2 liquid cooler. But that cooler was the first thing to fail in my PC after close to 2 years. It bothered me that the H100i fans got very loud on high loads, so I searched for a more silent cooler, and found this one.
