Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4, Premium CPU Cooler for AMD AM4 (Brown)

I purchased this particular cooler to install on a new build with a Ryzen 2700X CPU and X370 Motherboard. (Apologies for the bad quality photo). I already knew that I was not going to use the standard Wraith cooler that comes with the CPU, even though that is a decent cooler.

It does the thing it was claiming to be doing. Now the loudest thing is the MSI Radeon 6500XT right below it...

I bought this cooler to replace the stock cooler on my AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU. Im not a gamer so the computer is primarily for business software. I built the computer a few months back and it was very noisy. So I decided to replace the two noisiest components, the power supply and the cooler. First I replaced the power supply since that was the louder of the two. I went for “Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 750W 80+ Gold SLI/Crossfire Ready Ultra Quiet 140mm Hydraulic Bearing Smart Zero Fan Full Modular Power Supply 10 Year Warranty PS-TPD-0750FNFAGU-1 “ This is a fantastic PS, absolutely quiet..5 dB till about 60% (i.e. 450 Watts of quiet power). After replacing the PS, the stock cooler noise became even more irritating. I researched a few different coolers, most of which were in $40-50 range but had a little more noise levels. Since I wanted a very quiet one, I decided to go for Noctau brand based on reviews I had read an a few different websites. I selected Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4 primarily because it is meant for AM4 processors.. This is a BIG cooler, so I looked up for compatibility with my hardware. Even though my motherboard (Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite) did not show up on the list, I measured the space required for the cooler and found it could easily fit.

I love this CPU cooler, dropped my temps to like 28degC while in the basement (room temp around 22degC) at idle. Works like a charm!

Ce ventilateur AM4 est monté sur une AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT et rempli parfaitement son rôle en silence. Jai installé un second ventilateur en push-pull. Cest du Noctua donc les performances sont dun très haut niveau. le cpu atteint 4700 MHz sans soucis avec le mode PBO activé.

expensive for a heatsink yes , but for the performance its very good value for money excellent job of cooling and remains very very quiet

So quiet, had to check to see if the fan was spinning. Lowered my Ryzen 3600 temps by roughly 40% compared with the stock cooler.

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 con frecuencias stock. Con el Cooler Stock, en juegos rondaba los 70c de temperatura. Con este Noctua rondo los 50c y no llego a 55c. Es una autentica bestia este cooler. Recomiendo este disipador incluso para OC moderado.

I recently upgraded my system to an AMD 3900xt and needed a cooler. My Cooler Master 212 has served me well for the i5 system Ive used the past couple years, but I figured I should try out this brand for the 3900xt build due to using a hotter CPU and the raving reviews online.
