Norton Ghost 14 was easy to install after earlier version outdated. Best product ever. FAST, EASY,DEPENDABLE. Price was a great deal and value for the money.

Ive been a Norton user for more than 10 years and had never experienced any issues other users reported until I came across Ghost 14. I upgraded from Ghost 12 to Ghost 14 six months ago and had been doing a drive backup every two weeks. Recently my laptop was stolen and when I try to do a restore, I found out certain files were missing from the every archive Ghost 14 created!!! During each backup session, Ghost 14 never gave any indication that some files were not backed up. Luckily the missing files were rarely changed and I was able to restore from the last Ghost 12 archive. Because of this, all my Ghost 14 backups made during the past six months are now questionable. Ive no idea what other files Ghost 14 failed to include in the archive.

It seems Norton 14 does not work well with Win XP. I had constant problems with making backups and conflicting with other apps. It is not as easy as the description says. A total waste.

I use nothing but Norton products. I received this product extreemly fast and was exactly as described. I would suggest to everyone to buy from this seller!

i bought this product and it backed up my stuff fine. then it told me to make a recovery disk. thats when i found out it didnt work on 64 bit pcs. nortons tech support (after hours trying to get a hold of them) said I would need to find somewhere to order and download 32 bit drivers. also without this recovery disk you cannot restore your data. so if you have a 64 bit pc, dont waste your money here.

I though v14 was better than v9, but I was wrong. In v9 I was able to copy from my laptop internal disk to another disk inserted in the same slot as the DVD rom normally stays... I am saying FULL copy, with boot capabilities, not just a backup file to be restored. Well, v14 CANNOT DO IT... I called Symantec support and I was told that it does not do disk copy into USB drives. The second disk inserted in the notebooks bay is seen as an USB drive. It use to work, exactly this way with v9. For my purpose, I do not recommend the product.

Having used earlier versions of this product in corporate environments, this was almost too simple to use. Perhaps the help files could have a staged method of use (ie: geeks really dont need the detail offered in some pages.) Probably the only thing I would wish for is compression so that an image of 50Gb would not be 50Gb. Highly recommended. (Unless things are PERFECT, I never give the fifth start!) 8^)

Works well and reliably. I upgraded from version 9 which worked well for many years, but isnt compatible with Vista. Norton support was there when I needed them. I can only compare it to MS back-up which never worked for me when I needed it. Dont bother with MS.

When creating a system recovery disk, I received a message stating that the 32 bit drivers included in the system recovery disk would not be usable to reboot my system. This was good to know. I was then presented with the option to create a custom recovery disk and tell Norton where to find the drivers that I wanted to add to my recovery disk. I will let you know how that works, once I figure out where the drivers reside on my system. I am pretty sure they reside in c:windowssysWOW64drivers but when I browsed that folder there were just a few files and I know there are many more drivers required to reboot my system to the point I can restore a backup. The reason I purchased Ghost was because I read so many bad reviews about the built in backup system for Windows operating systems. I am thinking it may be time to give the built in system for Vista Business 64X a try and not waste any more time trying to get Norton 14.0 to work. I was surprized to see how many other people are having diffculty using this product.

Works very well to back up my entire operating system of Windows XP after reading between the line on the instructions. The instructions could be a little clearer for system backup. When finished it gives an exact backup of your disk drive, I backup to a spare IDE drive and a USB drive. I am bummed that Ver 14.0 wont work with Windows 7 without buying a newer version
