> 3 dayLike I said before, I used OLFA knives and blades in the printing industry for over 25 years, and theyre great, but we didnt have cushioned grips back then. The OLFA Fiberglass Rubber Grip is very comfortable and stable, which gives me more confidence in my hobby - scale plastic aircraft modeling. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Greater than one weekVery well made. If you try pulling the blades instead of using the slider, it wont budge because the locking mechanism is pretty good (Secured). Cheap ones will usually slide when youre cutting hard plastics with back and forth motion. The black part is rubberized (Great handling). Best utility knife Ive ever own!

Greater than one weekI break a LOT of boxes down for our recycling effort. Previously I used an OLFA utility knife and was happy with the results--until I ordered the OLFA Rubber Grip Utility Knife. The leverage you can generate using this ergonomic rubber grip allows you to cut through large and tough cardboard boxes (think banana box) like a hot knife through butter. It of course helps that the blade is razor sharp, but the ease of use is really due to your ability to grip this knife in a way that automatically puts more power into the somewhat smaller cutting surface. No more repeating the cut to make sure that you get through the cardboard, no more bending of the blade as you try to make a straight cut. And its also useful on plastic, rope, rubber and a host of other items. GREAT TOOL!!!!!

> 3 dayused to have the metal version of these, which i really liked and was worried these would be flimsy, but I was wrong, these are tougher than they look. I see know it says they are made of fiberglass...that explains it!

> 3 dayI read lots of positive reviews for this item. But for me, its not working very well. Im breaking down lots of boxes from a move and this blade doesnt do that good of a job. Theres a problem with the design of the handle such that when cutting, the blade can become stuck and as you slice, the blade pulls out and advances to the next blade. Theres a self locking mechanism, but Im constantly activating the release via my hands natural pressure on the handle. I need something more heavy duty.

> 3 dayI ordered it to cut very sturdy lawn edging strips after hearing they were difficult to cut. With this, I scored it once and cut right through with no effort at all. Now, I cut anything needing cutting with it. I just cut through some carpet samples to stick in the pantry. I even used this to cut (with a bit of time wasting effort since it wasnt necessary) a piece off the wood molding on the floor to get a rug to fit in the pantry. Its great to cut things like screening, etc. I love it.

Greater than one weekI bought a couple of these and they just arrived. They are by far the best quality utility knives I have come across. In the past Ive had cheap little plastic ones, but these, for a little extra money, are far superior in quality. The grip is nice and the action of moving the blade is very precise. The blade moves nicely and locks firmly in place and then retracts just as smoothly. Its a tiny little thing that gets used only on occasion (mostly to open boxes from Amazon), but its so rare to be pleasantly surprised by the quality of an inexpensive product that I just had to give it a review. 5 stars all the way. A little more expensive than the cheapies, but in this case you get more than what you pay for. Im ordering more to give to friends - who think Im nuts to be excited about a $6 utility knife.
