Greater than one weekBefore I give my review, here is a quick WARNING: Ive been using this product for a while so let me save you some trouble if youre new to this gel. Keep all the syringes in the refrigerator to preserve its potency for a much longer time because one syringe lasts you several sessions. Next, I read a few people here comment on the burning sensation followed by white gums. Sorry to burst your bubble guys but the gel is not the problem in that case: its you. If you dont want to have painful burning gums from this stuff, please follow these instructions to a T- this is what was told to me by my dentist and worked like a charm every single time::: Apply a tiny drop of the gel to THE BOTTOM OF EVERY TOOTH in your custom mouth trays. DO NOTTTTTTTT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES apply any more than a little tiny bit over ONE SMALL DROP THE SIZE OF A BALL POINT PEN TIP on THE BOTTOM of each tooth. The reason for this- the gel is extremely strong and even a little bit that gets on your gums, starts burningggg within seconds! Its not anything unbearable but its very unpleasant. Dont let this scare you: even if you mess up the first time or 2, once you figure out just how much is the right amount, you will be extremely happy you found this product! The reason to put it on the BOTTOM of each tooth- the gel spreads upward toward your gumline once you put the trays against your teeth and it covers the whole tooth. Also, I suggest whitening the front 8-10 teeth only (basically to the tooth or 2 that goes right past your fangs) as those are the only ones that actually show and you want to keep the sensitivity to a minimum. Use sensadyne extra whitening toothpaste during this time as well to help keep the whitening going and also to reduce the brief sensitivity that follows the gel if you have sensitive teeth like me. And lastly, this is optional but just a suggestion: apply a thin layer of Vaseline with your finger to your gums, wipe excess off of your teeth with a paper towel and THEN apply the mouth trays with gel. This will significantly reduce any type of burning if some just so happens to get on your gums. Now as far as the review...I did NOT receive this product for any kind of discount or exchange (nothing in my life has come free so far haha..)- I actually initially got it from my dentist for $400! Very quick delivery, amazing product- as always. This is the second time Im ordering opalescence on Amazon. I recommend this seller as the transaction was flawless from start to finish. I received the product neatly packaged in a total of 2 business days. About a year and a half ago, I paid my dentist those $400 for custom molded mouth trays and this exact product. It worked like a charm and lasted a long time but $200 every time was not a price I wanted to pay for at home teeth whitening. However this was the BEST whitening product I have ever used so I was determined to find it cheaper. It dawned on me to check Amazon and lo and behold- its here!!! I cannot begin to tell you how incredible this whitening gel is. After about 10-15 sessions, people will start commenting and asking how you keep your teeth so white! I know such was the case for me at least. And keep in mind, at the time I was smoking a pack of cigs a day since I was 12 (26 now) and religiously drinking about 4-5 cups of coffee through the day and the same amount of tea at night- so my teeth were STAINED. Theyre not as stained right now, but they needed some whitening again so you will see the difference. I quit smoking this week so that was my motivation to get this going again. I dont have any pictures of before and after as I am going to start today, but I will update my review in about two weeks when there will be a noticeable difference so you guys can see what Im talking about! All in all, if you apply with caution and follow my instructions, this product is hands down the best whitening gel I have ever used and I bet it will be the same for you too! I recommend it whole heartedly and will always use this to whiten my teeth!

> 3 dayWhitens, doesn’t hurt or burn. Sticky so sticks to teeth rather than slipping out the side of the light

> 3 dayI first got custom whitening trays about fourteen years ago - right after I had my braces removed. I have used just about every gel from several dentists. All of the gels have been far less than 35% and of course took a lot longer per treatment (usually overnight) and many more treatments than this product at 35%. And the gels cost SEVERAL times more from a dentist. One can achieve the same results as this 35% product, but it will take much longer, and will cost much more. There is a balance between the percentage of carbamide peroxide and gum irritation, however - and it varies from person to person (the irritation, that is). But here is what I have found. If I floss my teeth once a day and brush them two to three times a day and use a fluoride rinse Act at night, I can use the Opalescence 35% for one hour per treatment in custom trays. Even after one hour, I can see clear results. If my teeth are still too dim I can use it every day until I get the results I want. I know (sort of) if I have over done it because my dentist will tell me my teeth are too white and off his colour chart. I never tell him this, but I think his teeth are dim and stained. (Sorry if that is mean.) My tips: Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Floss once a day and use Act fluoride rinse at night and use THIS gel. This gel is the best I have tried. It works quickly. Short treatment, few treatments. If you cannot tolerate an hour; use the recommended half hour. I dont have sensitivity, but if you do, switch to Sensodine sensitive teeth toothpaste and use the Opalescence less frequently, for a shorter time or both. Also, stop doing those shots of straight Bourbon, because that compounds the irritation to your gums. I vacillate about how often to touch up my teeth - so I asked another Amazon reviewer. Anyway, that is what works for me and I hope this helps you. A bright smile makes an awesome first impression. And second, third... Cheers, Dan

> 3 dayNot sure why the comments are so negative. If you have experience bleaching your teeth, you shouldn’t have a problem. I put a tiny dot in each tooth of my retainer. Once you push them in, tap and push the front of your teeth. Wipe any excess gel. Wait up to an hour. Slight tingling, but no burning. To help with sensitivity, use sensodyne for a few days before bleaching After the first use (I only used for 30 minutes) I can already tell the difference. Will use until I get the whiteness I want.

> 3 dayWarnings: As many others have stated, the 35% is not for the uneducated. Read The Factory Manual. You absolutely need custom made dental trays for this stuff, as you dont want it oozing up onto your gums. Leave it on for no longer than the recommended 30 minutes the first time to determine your sensitivity level. Results: I just quit smoking after 20 years, and my teeth were horribly yellowed. After about two tubes of this, theyre amazingly brighter and whiter. I use about a third of a tube per each application even doing ALL of my teeth both inside AND out (yes, I have OCD). Still some yellowing at the base of the teeth that I hope to clear, but my dentist says that in older (?!) adults, that could be the dentin (naturally yellowish layer beneath the enamel) showing through. I will begin a more strict regimen of applying this stuff (Ive been a bit sporadic) and hope to find that its staining from a lifetime of bad habits. If youre considering 35% versus a lower strength, consider in terms of your patience and/or desire to sleep with trays in your mouth. I tried 15% several years ago, and just ended up not really using it because I hated having the trays in my mouth overnight. Seller: Absolutely A+ for the company filling the order. The product arrives quickly, is exactly as advertised, and is fresh. My most recent order arrived May 30, 2014 and had R046 on the syringe, which means R=Lot Identifier, 04=April, and 6=2016. So Ive got about two years to use this stuff! For those that arent sure of the expiration date coding, this quote is straight from Ultradents product sheet: Ultradent syringes have an expiration date stamped on the side of the syringe consisting of one letter and three numbers. The letter is a lot number used for manufacturing purposes and the three numbers are the expiration date. The first two numbers are the month, and the third number is the last number of the year. Get smiling! :D

> 3 dayThe 35% works very well as long as you know what youre doing. It is a great product. If you have never used Opalescence before, even a lower percentage, youd be better off starting on lower percentage, then build up to this percentage. It does work well, it just needs to be handled correctly. Only a tiny bubble worth in each tooth cavity of mould is needed.

> 3 dayThis product truly does work and whitens your teeth very quickly! People are CONSTANTLY complimenting my smile and asking me how I keep my teeth so white. Mind you, I am a smoker and I drink coffee and tea all day long. I initially paid $400 at my dentist to get the professional trays that are a mold of my teeth and 8 syringes of this stuff. When used properly, it should last you a *minimum* of 2 months after DAILY use. It goes a long way, but I didnt realize how badly I was being ripped off! After finding it here on Amazon for this price, I was ecstatic! I immediately ordered it and have been using it since. Theres absolutely no difference between this one and the one my dentist gave me, so I know its the real deal. The only downside of this is that just like with most whitening solutions, your teeth do feel sensitive for a day or so after using. There were a couple of times I fell asleep with the mouth trays still on, and woke up in the morning to SEVERE sensitivity- but that was my fault since youre only supposed to leave it on for one hour. However, the super bad sensitivity only lasted one day. Also, dont use too much to where its oozing out onto your gums because it burns like hell when it sits on your gums for a while! (Use only a tiny drop per tooth.) I got a remineralization gel here on Amazon, which is supposed to help with the sensitivity post-bleaching and its made a world of a difference! As for the opalescence, I apply a small dot of the bleach closer to the bottom of each tooth on the tray that touches the front side of my teeth (so that it doesnt touch my gums when it spreads), and leave it on for about 1 hour before bedtime. I do it every night until I get the results I want, and then just maintain by using it for a 3-4 days in a row each month. (Thats just my personal preference though, since like I mentioned, I smoke and drink tea and coffee every day so my teeth get stained rather quickly). Anyway, I can absolutely say that I truly do recommend opalescence to anyone who needs their teeth whitened. It WILL work, just remember that a little goes a long way!

> 3 dayThese are quite expensive but actually get the job done. All it takes is 15-20 minutes for super white teeth. I usually get the 10% bleaching product from my dentist & use them overnight. These definitely do the job much better.

> 3 dayI LOVEEEE this whitener. I have really yellow teeth and the 10% did nothing for me. I decided to give this one a try and wow I saw a difference on the first try. I used it everyday for 5 days straight for 2-3 hours each time. I do not have sensitive teeth at all butttt I messed up. One night i accidently fell asleep with the whitener on for 8 hours. I woke up with the biggest tooth pain EVER and lasted 24hrs. It was not the whiteners fault but beware of wearing it for long periods of times because you will be in pain. Overall , its amazing and I will continue to buy it. 4 syringes gave me about 10ish times.
