Love this stuff. The application is super easy and the results are beautiful. Used it for a board and batton sided cabin on rough cut lumber.

We used this product to coat new log pine siding installed on our Adirondack camp. It goes on easy and says it can be recoated (if, and when needed) by spraying with a common garden sprayer. Water bounces off the siding and it looks great. Love this stuff. Also, it says it can be used on presure treated decks without waiting months to season. Expensive but well worth the cost.

This is our third time purchasing Q8 log oil but the first time with this larger 5 gallon jug. We bought a bigger jug for reapplication in 2 years! CONTAINER: I found the 1 gallon jug much easier to manage for my small backyard projects. The 5 gallon jug is harder to poor without spilling. This stuff kills grass and is bad for concrete so you don’t want to spill. USES: We have used Q8 log oil to finish an oversized swing beam in 2017 and supports and recoated it easily 2 years later (spring 2019) for fading and rain surface wear. My only prep needed was to remove the few patches of birdpoop and pollen dust. We more recently refinish a play fort previously finished with several other products that came off with a pressure washer. We were able to use te Q8 even with a few bits of odd stubborn stain in place. Recommended: My dad has even used this on his own deck inbetween my projects because he was impressed about the no sanding or pressure washing needed to recoat in a few years. That makes this product UNIQUE as a deck finish.

Goes on easy with no lap marks and not a coating that will peel.

First photo is before washing the logs. Second photo is after washing. Last photo is after application of log oil. I used a regular garden sprayer to apply the oil. My logs hadn’t been maintained properly so 5 gallons wasn’t enough. I will be ordering another 5 gallons. I think this stuff is great. It changed the whole look of my house. Easy clean up with soap and water. Very satisfied with this purchase. I thought the whole process was gonna be tough but it wasn’t. Very pleased with the results. There is a little odor but it disappeared after drying. Odor wasn’t overwhelming. I wore a face mask while I applied the oil to keep from breathing it in. I’d suggest you do the same.

Takes a while to dry and turned the cedar to a ugly yellow with a hint of green.

Used it on new white cedar logs on a cabin. Only know what people tell me as only time will tell. Those in the know say it is by its self as the best to use on things like I did. It does look great and was easy to use.

Brushed it on a hardwood deck, sprayed it with a simple 1 qt dispenser on a pressure treated ramp. Both look good and are holding up well after their first season near salt water in Connecticut. Follow the instructions. Always best to start with a clean surface but this has even worked on some oil, grease, and wax spots.
