> 3 dayApplicantion was messy as we applied it before installing a swing set. We applied it while the wood was laying on a tarp. The bottle cautions to not get the oil on concrete which can be tricky if your deck is over top of a patio. We had very little streaking, it is forgiving of drips on a way that most stains are not. It’s been on the wood installed for over a year with only slight color fading on the upper surfaces. I also like that I don’t have to sand the old material off to re-protect the wood. My dad will be using this to stain and weather treat his deck soon!

Greater than one weekId never used this kind of stain before, I was worried it would be too messy and troublesome; but it went on easily. The cabin I live in is quite old, from the 50s I believe, with older cement-like chinking. The cabin had to have latex paint blasted off of it from ill-informed former tenants. It got blasted down to bare wood and the oil soaked in immediately. I might have to spray again before winter to make sure it is saturated enough. I like the color, and while it stained the cement chinking as well, it looks fine. I could use chink paint to make it a solid color, but I think it would make it look TOO clean compared to the old logs. Application was as simple as buying a cheap garden sprayer from TractorSupplyCo. It renders the sprayer unusable afterwards, so dont bother buying an expensive one. I used a filtered 3M mask, I suggest you do the same to be safe. Reapplication also should be easy, no need to strip it or sand it, just spray more on when it needs it.

> 3 dayWe used this product to coat new log pine siding installed on our Adirondack camp. It goes on easy and says it can be recoated (if, and when needed) by spraying with a common garden sprayer. Water bounces off the siding and it looks great. Love this stuff. Also, it says it can be used on presure treated decks without waiting months to season. Expensive but well worth the cost.

> 3 dayI think this is a great product. Sprays on, cant mess it up with lap marks and really repels water. It repels water so well you can dry your deck with a leaf blower, water beads off more than any product Ive seen (see picture). After using solid finishes (Sikkens) which peel and lose repellency fast, this is quite refreshing. I add the Outlast NBS and Moldbuster additives, because this deck is in a moist area near a pond, no mold or moss at all so good job Q8 Log oil!and The NBS (no bug stuff) is non toxic, havent had a carpenter bee yet. I will update if it fails prematurely. I highly recommend this you are tired of solid coats peeling!

> 3 dayWe had previously bought a 5 gallon pail from log supplier and it was darker than this. We had to use more coats of this. Same brand and same color.

Greater than one weekWe have a Florida log cabin! It is beautiful! This is our second time in 5 years applying! It preserves the logs, looks good! Smells good (my opinion) and it protects from bugs as well as weather! Great stuff!

> 3 dayThis is our third time purchasing Q8 log oil but the first time with this larger 5 gallon jug. We bought a bigger jug for reapplication in 2 years! CONTAINER: I found the 1 gallon jug much easier to manage for my small backyard projects. The 5 gallon jug is harder to poor without spilling. This stuff kills grass and is bad for concrete so you don’t want to spill. USES: We have used Q8 log oil to finish an oversized swing beam in 2017 and supports and recoated it easily 2 years later (spring 2019) for fading and rain surface wear. My only prep needed was to remove the few patches of birdpoop and pollen dust. We more recently refinish a play fort previously finished with several other products that came off with a pressure washer. We were able to use te Q8 even with a few bits of odd stubborn stain in place. Recommended: My dad has even used this on his own deck inbetween my projects because he was impressed about the no sanding or pressure washing needed to recoat in a few years. That makes this product UNIQUE as a deck finish.
