> 24 hourPerfect. And the tab makes removal super easy. The square is big enough to hide the outlet entirely, which works amazing for me because my outlets are not the same color as the covers. I was looking for a way to keep the dust out and hide the fact that they put tan outlets throughout the house. I don’t have kids, so if you’re looking for child proofing all I can say is they aren’t super easy to remove from tthe wall. You have to wiggle it with the tab out. But the tab is something I could see a child being capable of breaking, so there’s that.

> 24 hourThese outlet plugs work as expected. The little handles do help the removal process, but they are still fairly hard to pull out when needed - but I guess the point is to keep kids from pulling them out! They are easier to remove than the old style you had to pry out with your fingernails.

> 24 hourThey do the job and cover the outlets in a non hideous way. Once the pull tab is out, they are really easy to pull out, but the slide down mechanism is VERY hard to get

> 24 hourI live in a crappy rental house with a clueless landlord. A mouse died in the wall because he put poison bait stations outside without ensuring the mice cant get in the house after they eat the poison! Months later it still smells like a dead body. I used these outlet covers to keep the smell in the walls. Did not work. Then I noticed a foul feces/urine smell, a sure sign of a nest, in an outlet next to my stove. These didnt stop the smell despite the fit being tight and secure. I dont have kids but I feel more relaxed that my cat wont accidentally electrocute himself with the outlet by his scratching post. I havent tried to remove them so I cant comment on that, but my lease is up in a few months so I shall find out soon. Im counting the days! Dont move to Portland, OR. High rent, substandard living conditions, amateur landlords with no knowledge of the law, and tenant lawyers who will tell you its illegal but difficult to prove, so no worth their time. Portland sucks! But these outlet covers are pretty good.

> 24 hourI tried using these to prevent dust and debris from the floor from getting into the power outlets on my UPS. This was a mistake. The UPSs outlets are too tight. I installed a few, and for one, the outlets were too close, so they overlapped. Then, I could not simply remove them by hand. I pulled hard enough that I tore the handle off the plastic plug. I then had to use a screwdriver to pry the cover out of the socket (which did not seem safe at all), which removed the cover, but one of the plugs prongs snapped off inside the UPS. I had to then use pliers to pull out the broken prong, which fortunately snapped off where I could pry it. I was able to remove the others by hand, and I mean, they did work fine in the house outlets, in that I could remove them, but the UPSs outlets grip too tightly. When I did remove them, I could tell that the metal inside the socket had dug into the plastic cover, which was why they were impossible to easily remove. I ended up just covering the outlets in clear plastic moving tape.

> 24 hourGood for plugging up outlets you rarely use as the little pull tab is hard to get out once it is installed in an outlet. Since I dont have kids I just pull the tab before installing.
