Pelican 1300 Camera Case

Perfect case! Fits my glock 19 and a couple spare magazines

I used this case recently to transport handguns on a trip. It was perfect for two handguns stored vertically, plus slots for 4 magazines and a smaller slot for a pocket knife.

Its a very nice case. A simple concept, easy to adjust to specific needs. I needed something to organize my folding knife collection, or at least the more valuable part of it, and it seems like its working well. Keeps the knives securely in place and prevents them from bumping into one another and scratching the scales. I was able to fit 36 knives and multitools in there and only one giant CS Recon 1 turned out o be too big for the case, which I kind of expected anyway.

Seriously, I wouldnt suggest driving over these things, even though they are tough enough they should survive. I bought this little case to help organize and protect my stuff... sadly what I wanted it for didnt fit (my fault for not reading the specs carefully enough) but I did find a use for it in the end with some other gear.

I do love Pelican cases, but this review is for the 1300 as a camera case as its promoted. The case is certainly strong, but I think as a camera case, the 1300 is on the heavy side. With foam, the case weighs about twice as much as my camera does. This makes for a very heavy case with a camera and flash. Pelican does make a lightweight version of some of their cases, but not this size.

Pelican continues to make quality products and charges a premium for them. This case is little different than the other Pelican products Ive purchased, though the latches on this one fit better than the last. Closing my other case was so difficult I shaved the plastic down a bit to close easier. This one performs as expected without modifications - just wish they were more affordable.

Just as excellent as the other Pelican cases I own
