Personal Security Products OHTT Ole Hickory Tire Thumper

Car jackings are running rampant around the area where I work. If I can deter someone from grabbing me through my car window or as I enter my vehicle without the use of lethal force Im all for it. This thumper should be a useful tool in doing so. It is heavy and very stout. One trick I learned in a self defense class is to cover the thumper with a sock. That way if someone grabs it to take it away from you the sock will just slip off. BTW, I also use it to check tire pressure on the various trailers I pull. Very handy

A little smaller in diameter than expected.

The Thumper, is 18 and made out of hickory. Stained and smoothed, as if its been used for years. Gives this thumper, that ole time feel. Something you might find hidden away, at an antique or days long gone store. its made in America, even endorsed by someone from TV. Lived with a bear in the mountains, hint. So why did I almost give it four stars, its where they drilled the hole for the leather lace. It should of been moved up a bit, to avoid any contact with your palm. But if you remove the loop, next to the thumper. Then retie it, your hand slips though with ease. Reach down, there it is. *Now I have to wonder, how would it work, if it was 16? The weight might be easier to control, as some you need to use your strength and not the weight of the thumper. Not gonna cut it down, just thinking is all.* Oh, as for thumping fish. I get mine frozen or in a can, never on a pizza! Do I own a truck or tractor trailer, the vehicles I played with when I was young. Had steel wheels, an once had a caboose at the end. So why did I purchase a tire/fish thumper .., for my gun belt. WHAT?! In the ole days, instead of using a gun. A gentle whack upside the head, would put an end to whatever and whoever was causing trouble. Like the batons of today, which youll see police officers wearing somewhere on their duty belt. Thats why, instead of a flashy new baton, Im looking for something old-fashioned. So if youre looking for something to whack a fish, tire or desperado with, this might be what youre looking for too.

I walk with a pitbull roughly 3 miles daily. My neighborhood has changed drastically over the years and the FB page for my city is constantly post pictures of stray dogs hoping to maybe notify an owner. We were attacked the other day by a shephard mix about 60 lbs. Trying to kick it in the head while it is trying to grab my dogs throat was a bit more exercise than I was wanting. My Internet search led my to this fish whacker. I named it Billy and he now accompanies us on our walk. Has a nice smooths finish, looks like a souvineer youd pick up while camping and hopefully will scare off a dog without killing it!

This is handy to have near your front door in case any Antifafish show up with a bad attitude. It works as a fish whacker too.

You get more than what you pay for it’s a great club very sturdy and great for defense if your strong enough to swing it properly would buy again.

Initially I purchased one of these fish knockers, as an all situations type of stick. Very solid feeling, and heavier than it looks. It was also aesthetically pleasing to the eye, with the bark still on it. A nice piece of wood. So we bought two more, one of them to give as a gift. But when they arrived (today) we were disappointed in the way they look. The bark is hardly present at all, looking like it was sanded off, and they are basically bare sticks of wood. They feel solid, but they are disappointing. The first stick we received: 5 stars in all categories. The next two we ordered: meh, maybe 3.5 (depending on how much weight you give to the aesthetics of the wood). NOTE. I decided to downgrade my initial 4 star rating to 3 star. I may return the two additional sticks.

The stick is a little smaller than I thought it would be. Less than one inch in diameter, the length is good eighteen inches.I like to walk in the woods bought it for protection coyotes sighted in area an inch to an inch and a half would of made me feel better. Being a petite female a little more heft to the stick would of made me happy.Other than the diameter it is a nice stick, just for $20 I expected a little more stick ....lol
