The Thumper, is 18 and made out of hickory. Stained and smoothed, as if its been used for years. Gives this thumper, that ole time feel. Something you might find hidden away, at an antique or days long gone store. its made in America, even endorsed by someone from TV. Lived with a bear in the mountains, hint. So why did I almost give it four stars, its where they drilled the hole for the leather lace. It should of been moved up a bit, to avoid any contact with your palm. But if you remove the loop, next to the thumper. Then retie it, your hand slips though with ease. Reach down, there it is. *Now I have to wonder, how would it work, if it was 16? The weight might be easier to control, as some you need to use your strength and not the weight of the thumper. Not gonna cut it down, just thinking is all.* Oh, as for thumping fish. I get mine frozen or in a can, never on a pizza! Do I own a truck or tractor trailer, the vehicles I played with when I was young. Had steel wheels, an once had a caboose at the end. So why did I purchase a tire/fish thumper .., for my gun belt. WHAT?! In the ole days, instead of using a gun. A gentle whack upside the head, would put an end to whatever and whoever was causing trouble. Like the batons of today, which youll see police officers wearing somewhere on their duty belt. Thats why, instead of a flashy new baton, Im looking for something old-fashioned. So if youre looking for something to whack a fish, tire or desperado with, this might be what youre looking for too.

Whether you are buying this to defend yourself from those anti-Conservative masses or protect yourself when walking your dog look somewhere else. It is a nicely made tire thumper but a bit to thin and skimpy to use for the very reason you would buy such a device. If it were thicker it would be 5 star.

    Greater than one week

I use this stick as self protection when I walk my dog at night. I’m a really small framed woman and this stick has enough weight behind it that even my little twiggy arms could do some damage with it. I have not had to use it against a person or an animal (mainly worried about other dogs not on a leash) but it has helped me fend off some moths and flying cockroaches. Aside from functionality it’s a really nice looking finished piece of wood, I like that the bark is still there.

I like the concept and bought 4 to keep in our cars and trucks. Sadly two are bent, one significantly. Disappointing product quality control.

I am happy with this item. I wanted something to keep in my vehicle for safety and this seems perfect. Its sturdy and lightweight but will definitely be a thumper if needed for security or fishing. The only downside is that its misshapen. I wish more care was taken in creating the item so it was symmetrical instead of flat in some spots and bulging in others.

Feels very sturdy and looks good, too. Nice heft for the size.

This wood was a great sturdy piece and Im not worried of this thing breaking. The finish was also smooth and professional.

My son was walking his 3 year old Weimaraner and they were both attached by 2 pit bills. It took 4 grown men to pull them off his dog, his dog laid on his back in a submission move and the pits tore into the dogs chest. $1,000 in vet bills later I looked here and found pry bars made for pits. I figured beat it with a bat, better than a gun at this point. Light and easy to carry.
