> 3 dayI use these for my hens when the temperatures drop into the teens and sub zero wind chills. They love them! Have extra covers which I do easily in the washing machine. I dont want to use a heating lamp because I am afraid of fire! Last 10+ hours. Sometimes the girls dont want to get off of them in the am!

> 3 dayMy pets love these snugglers. I pop them in the microwave and they stay warm for hours. They are great for ageing pets, post surgery or just a cold day. I often use them when we travel to dog shows in the winter to keep everyone cozy during the cold days.

> 3 dayI gave these a “1” because the covers fell apart at the seams after a couple washings. I have one I bought 5 years ago whose cover is still perfect but these 3 new SnuggleSafe covers are poorly made. Disappointed in the workmanship.

> 3 dayContinued: After overheating, the kitched filled with a gas that irritated my eyes and made breathing almost impossible. The flooring was burnt and ruined. I was concerned about health effects so I called the US office looking for a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). The guy I spoke with was unhelpful and he blew me off to their UK office, also useless-the computers are down.

Greater than one weekI use these for feral cats in freezing temps. I thought they’d last longer than they do, but it’s better than nothing. I wasn’t expecting them to be so hard, but I suppose that’s necessary to ensure they are safe (chew proof). I’d buy them again as I don’t have an option to have an electric heating source, but they don’t stay warm for several hours like I thought they would. I would recommend buying the three together so you can rotate them. You cannot reheat them until fully cooled down.

> 3 dayI have a hedgehog, so this product was recommended since hedgehogs are very sensitive to the cold in the winter and I did not want to use a plug-in heated blanket (they need a temperature of at least 70*F to be comfortable/happy, and even though they can handle in the high 60s they do tend to start getting sluggish). Kozmo (my hedgehog) loves this thing, and it works great. If you need to go on short trips in cold weather you could microwave this for a few minutes, with it staying plenty warm wrapped in an old pillowcase with blankets on top for the hedgehog to hide/snuggle under. Since hedgehogs will often urinate even in their sleep areas, this product is great since it is very easy to clean between microwaving with a wet paper towel or water and a little soap. The only reason this amazing product did not get 5 stars is because, at least for hedgehogs, you will need to buy two of the snugglesafe heat pads to use in cold weather. This is because frequent changes in temperature can really throw off the hedgehog and they may start acting a little crazy, as well as their sense of time being thrown off. Therefor it is best to have two so one can be heated to last through the night and the other for during the day. *****It is also important for hedgehog owners to remember that even when the weather starts getting warmer, it still might be to cold for hedgehogs since the household heaters will not turn on as often. I found this out the hard way- one day Kozmo tried walking, tripping and stumbling, eyes half closed, with his whole body shaking violently and he ignored his favorite treats or tried very weakly to gum them... I of course freaked out, called vets (it was late at night so most were closed), heated up his SnuggleSafe to put in a carry box with him and rushed over to the vet, really thinking he was horribly sick or dying. Of course, after getting there and sitting in the waiting room for an hour or so, he pops his head out of the box looking for treats- perfectly happy and back to normal thanks to the SnuggleSafe having warmed him up again. So if you see this type of scary behavior, try warming up your hedgie before assuming it suddenly has wobbly hedgehog syndrome, or other such things. Also, if your hedgehog does not come out to eat around his regular time, perhaps several hours late, it might actually be too cold to move- lift up its blankets to see and if its shivering/shaking or in a very, very tight ball and not responding like usual. Heat up the SnugleSafe quick, and maybe even hold the hedgie close to you for your body temperature until it is done in the microwave. Feeling the hedgehog can also tell you if its cold, since even the spikes will feel slightly icy.*****

> 3 dayWe had to move my daughters guinee pigs and hamsters to the garage due to allergy issues. These heat pads keep the animals warm all night. We reheat them in the morning and it works most of the day.

Greater than one weekMy outside cats (and opposum) really like these. I have one plug for two houses and the third house, I use these. We are so cold here, that I change and put a warm one in after about 7 hours.
