I am a 57 yr old woman who has installed several smart devices. They were easy to installed and set-up. I have added them to several rooms in and outside of our home. .

I love all the effects I can create, along with the schedule I have set up to turn lights on at dusk and off at a specified time. I also enjoy the convenience of turning them on and off with Siri. I dont use Alexa.

I assumed this would be a simple, straight out of the box set up. 6 hours later I am returning the product because I just could not get it to work, and I am pretty good with technology and following directions. I downloaded the app. I plugged the hub into the router via the provided cable (should have been my first indicator- that a high end hub could not connect wirelessly). All lights on the hub lit up, I followed the directions, pushed the button (because it should be that simple) and nothing. I spent hours online following the troubleshooting tips and none of them worked. For something that plugged directly into the internet source it should work without a single hiccup. So yes, i’m pretty disappointed because I was looking at setting this hub up to add other Philips lighting devices. I should have went with a different product and would not recommend this product.

I have already used them for almost a year in my bedroom, however one of the bulbs is down a couple of days ago, then I checked their advertisement. Philips advertises most of its current lineup of Hue smart LED bulbs, including the White and Color Ambiance bulbs, as lasting around 25,000 hours. Then let’s do a calculation: if I use my Philips hue white bulbs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, then 24*365=8760, it is much lower than 25000 hours they advertise. Definitely I won’t use them 24 hours a day! That’s why I’m not satisfied with my order, if they really can survive 25000 hours, then the one I got is a defective product!

I love these bulbs . It allowed us to be very lazy and make our lamps turn themselves on and off. I can even do it remotely when I’m not home. This is great for travelers
