The external dimensions of the Travelpro Platinum are the maximum allowable (not expanded) for overhead compartments on global flights (if the airline boarding attendants check the dimensions). I purchased this luggage for travel to Mexico. The ball bearing wheels are smooth and stable for rolling through airports (and boarding escalators using the two wheel rolling position). The interior is easy to pack and cram in clothing for a five day trip augmented by an under seat bag. The Platinum design stands out from the typical black roll aboard bags.

At this premium price ($400 at time of writing, and Travelpro’s current flagship carry-on), I’m going to be a bit more critical of things I’d overlook on cheaper luggage.

Beautiful is in the eye of the beholder. This compact luggage is sturdy and the inside will help me travel with 4/5 out fits as a carry on. The locking mechanism is handy and it rolls smoothly. The handle extends easily.

We have used this product on 3 trips ONLY. It is unmistakable the WORSE luggage I have ever bought. And amongst the worst product of ALL products I have ever bought.

I have taken this beautiful, dysfunctional piece of luggage on exactly three business trips across two States and the expansion zipper is broken. So it accordions nicely on the luggage carousel but remains locked so still (barely) usable. Despite their stellar reputation I have had bad luck with this brand and will no longer use them myself or recommend to others. The fact that I cannot get my money back or get a repair or a replacement under any kind of warranty (Amazons Return Window closed after 30 days - nice) is also a major irritant. My only solace is that it was purchased with AMEX points and, so, will be turning to them for some satisfaction. In closing, Travel Pro is not nearly what they are supposed to be - good marketing plus questionable product quality = potential trouble exactly when you dont want it, like when you are traveling.

I love this luggage, every feature is thoughtful and practical for travel. The maneuverability is so smooth, I glided through the airport. All the zippers work well and the charging option was so convenient. This was slightly smaller than my previous carry-on luggage but I didn’t notice the difference too much. The expanded zipper area helped. I also like that there was a pocket accessible from the outside. I could put my mask and other easy to reach items.

It is True Navy in color and complies with published check-in size restrictions for nearly all major domestic airlines (62 linear inches). This bag was great upon arrival and for the first 2 trips. Really good looking bag and lightweight. Be careful because its so big its easy to go over weight with normal packing- you cant stuff it full or you will definitely pass the 50lb mark.
