> 3 dayI like the utility of this luggage piece. You have access to an external USB charging port which makes recharging cell phones in the airport easier. The pockets are well designed to help with article separation. It wheels well and is comfortably controlled through the extendable handle. While I welcome the TSA locking mechanism, they always seem to break mine open instead of using their key to open them so Ive given up on locking luggage (I wish somebody would hold airports accountable for preventable luggage damage; would it really kill you to ask me to open the luggage instead of prying open a lock you supposedly have a key for!?!). The dark blue is nice looking and the smaller size is great for use as a carry on; though the compact carry on version is probably sized slightly better.

> 3 dayThis bag was great upon arrival and for the first 2 trips. Really good looking bag and lightweight. Be careful because its so big its easy to go over weight with normal packing- you cant stuff it full or you will definitely pass the 50lb mark.

> 3 dayNice looking with good wheels, but the construction is otherwise very ordinary. The “aluminum” corner pieces are only on the top and appear to be silver-colored plastic. And after searching the entire interior compartment, there does not appear to be a place to install a battery pack. That makes the USB ports useless. Not sure why I paid a premium price for this.

> 3 dayAt this premium price ($400 at time of writing, and Travelpro’s current flagship carry-on), I’m going to be a bit more critical of things I’d overlook on cheaper luggage.

Greater than one weekThe external dimensions of the Travelpro Platinum are the maximum allowable (not expanded) for overhead compartments on global flights (if the airline boarding attendants check the dimensions). I purchased this luggage for travel to Mexico. The ball bearing wheels are smooth and stable for rolling through airports (and boarding escalators using the two wheel rolling position). The interior is easy to pack and cram in clothing for a five day trip augmented by an under seat bag. The Platinum design stands out from the typical black roll aboard bags.

> 3 dayTravelling to Europe recently and wanted a spinner case as my wife and daughter like theirs so much on entering and exiting the airplane. I switched to Travelpro as so many pilots and cabin crew use them. Ive owned Eagle Creek, Tumi and Briggs and Riley in the past and the latter brand was going to be my choice until I chose Travelpro.
