I had been waiting for this game for SO LONG. It was worth it to pre-order because: 1) I got it shipped to me the day it came out and 2) it was at a discounted price!! What more could you want?? I absolutely wouldve paid $400 for this game. I wouldve given Nintendo my soul. For the months leading up to it, I would show my friends and family the new trailers by shoving my phone in their faces and waiting for a reaction. Pokémon has been a part of my life for over 14 years and I couldnt live on if they stopped making games. I couldnt. You may laugh, you may scoff, but I am as serious as Sirius (Black). I also chose Moon because its so much cooler and less basic than Sun. In Moon, the clock is 12 different from the real world so its DARK WHEN ITS LIGHT AND LIGHT WHEN ITS DARK IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. Alright, thanks for reading. Or not reading. Either way, have a fantabulotistic day.

One of the best games in the series to date. Ive played since gen one, I have to say that the characters and writing in sun and moon is amazing. The closest would be gen 5, but that was more story driven than character in my opinion. The designs may take some getting used to, but after a month even the ones I didnt like originally have grown on me. The only complaints may be that the beginning of the game is rather dialogue heavy, so for kids that dont like reading or even others, it may come off as tedious. Other than that, the post-game is rather small and similar to X and Y/ORAS.

As the Pokemon games reach their 7th generation, the formula of the games has become very much a standardized affair. Move through routes, defeat gym leaders, then face the elite four and challenge the champion. The games have each stood out individually for features such as Pokemon contests from R/S/E, customizable fashion from X/Y, the DexNav from Omega Ruby, and so on which have not been carried on to later games. The biggest change in Pokemon Sun/Moon is the removal of Pokemon gyms, replaced by Island Challenges where trainers fight predetermined battles and solve puzzles. I strongly dislike this change; while the total experience gained ends up matching gyms, the distinct feeling of a gym and gym leader is lost, and so areas lose some of their individuality. I hope that gyms return in the next series of games. Other changes have been made too, mostly positive. While the number of new Pokemon added is relatively small compared with games such as Black/White, new Pokemon Alolan forms have been added with new designs, typing, and movesets. The Alolan forms make for very interesting new designs and type/move combinations, and my personal favorite is the Alolan Ninetales, which is now blue and is an Ice/Fairy type. Customizable fashion and hairstyles have made a welcome return from Pokemon X/Y after being absent in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, and there is a very Hawaiian feel to the clothing options. HM moves have been removed, replaced by Pokemon riding to break rocks, travel on water, or flying between cities. The day/night cycle has a renewed emphasis, where Pokemon can appear on routes depending on the day or night like in the original Gold/Silver games. Additional modes include the Festival plaza, where trainers can meet and interact, sharing stats and greetings and matching up for battles and trades. A second new mode is the Poke Pelago, small islands where you can grow berries, increase Pokemon happiness, levels, and EVs, and search for rare items. Both of these modes are fun and can be quite the time-wasters. One complaint I have is the relatively limited set of post-game activities. A small set of new areas open up along with the ability to catch new legendary Ultra Beasts, along with the Battle Tree, the new area where you can battle AI-controlled teams for currency to purchase rare items. However, these activities can be completed relatively quickly and the Battle Tree can become repetitive very fast unless you have a diverse set of Pokemon to battle with. Another complaint I have is the lack of backwards compatibility. Despite Pokemon X/Y, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and Sun/Moon all being 3DS games, there is no way to trade between Sun/Moon and the older games. The only possibility is using the external Poke Bank application to transfer your friends from earlier games to the new games, but not vice versa. This process makes it difficult to transfer teams across the games, and harms the replayability of those older games by not letting you use newly caught Mons. Overall the game is highly enjoyable and accessible for newcomers or those who may have not played for many years (I myself just recently purchased a 3DS and the newest 3 series of games). The new Pokemon and Alolan forms are very visually distinct and have interesting type combinations that make battles deeper. Most of the changes to gameplay are positive and add to the diversity of modes available to players. The difficulty curve, while on the easy side (It is still a childrens game after all) is consistent and compelling, and the environments of Alola are lovingly rendered and attractive to the eyes. I would recommend this game to any Pokemon fan as well as anyone interested in RPG games or curious about the Pokemon series.

I pre-ordered this back in October - I was super stoaked when it arrived on release day. Ive been a super big pokemon fan since Red/Blue were released 20 years ago. I was a little apprehensive since Id heard Sun/Moon kinda deviated from the traditional pokemon game. ~Spoilers! Dont read this part if you dont want to know about storyline~ The biggest thing I didnt really care for was how guided the game is - there are a TON of cut scenes you cant skip through, and the beginning of the game really forces you along (blocked paths, required tasks before you can do anything else, etc.). This makes the game quite easy to progress through since there isnt really any way you can get lost. Sun/Moon dont have the traditional Gym Leaders/Battles - instead, you are a trial-goer and participate in little mini-tasks through your journey across Alola. Rather than Leaders, you are given trials by Island Captains, and eventually face the Island Kahuna as the Grand Trial on each island. I honestly found some of the trials to be rather silly - one is a find the difference sort of game, another is wandering around finding items in a jungle, etc. None are particularly difficult puzzles or anything. Grand Trials are battles, and those arent particularly difficult either (you get the Alpha Saphire/Omega Ruby style Exp. Share pretty early on, so your team is pretty OP. The main story line is pretty interesting - I enjoyed some of the unexpected twists. The after-story is also pretty good, and theres quite a bit to do after beating the pokemon league the first time around. There are no HMs in Sun/Moon - instead, you get to ride various pokemon around and can call them from anywhere. Pretty useful, and theres no need to keep an HM slave around to get through different dungeons. I liked Pokemon Refresh a lot - its really cute to be able to interact with your pokemon after a battle. Pokepelego is also pretty cool - the ability to farm berries so quickly/in one spot is insanely useful. Im not too thrilled with the Festival Plaza - it seems you need to be connecting with other trainers via NFC, etc to get the most out of this one. TL;DR - Fun pokemon game.

I have played every pokemon game at least in main series of these. This might be my favorite so far. Something about it was just great. They added more story than normal which at beginning was honestly a bit obnoxious because I wanted to fight people but in the end I enjoyed the game throughly and I am still playing to catch the cool new pokemon and train them up. Getting used to the totem battles over gyms was weird and kinda missed not having as many boss trainers but later on in game they actually give you quote a few tough opponents go against. Well tough as long as you didnt like special train your pokemon IV and EV wise lol. Oddly whole I loved this one my GF who does enjoy most of them told me she just couldnt get into this one and stopped playing hers after like first island. So I suppose it isnt for everyone.

Pros. Graphics and sound have been greatly improved ! But if you are using an older model of the 3ds then the frame rate drops a little during battles . On the other hand the *new* 3DS handles things pretty well, you wont notice the frame drop as much. HMs are a thing of the past! No longer will we required to have HM slaves on adventure team! We can now page Ride Pokemon ! Need a bolder smashed out of the way? Summon Touros! Need to go for a swim? Summon Lapras or Sharpedo ! Need to fly? Summon Charizard! The only downside is that these are rental pokemon . You cant use your own . They also seem to be shiny locked as well. Kurts Apricorn Pokeballs have returned ! For the trainers out there who have dreamed of having 5th, 6th and now 7th gen pokemon in this special balls REJOYCE ! Love Ball Sylveon is a thing now! Moon Ball Rockruff is a thing! Keep in mind that Apricorn trees are not in game but you can find these special balls through out the game. Trainer Customization is back and better then ever ! First off! After 20 years we can finally take the damn hat off! YES ! There are more hairstyles for both boys and girls ! Girl trainers get to wear make up. White colored clothes can be dyed whatever color you want! Breeding mechanics have gotten an upgrade ! Male and Genderless Pokemon can now pass down their pokeballs if they are bred with Ditto ! Before it was females only ! The Day Care was replaced by the The Nursery . Pokemon will not level up and auto forget moves that you are trying to breed down . Because they dont level up in the Nursery its hella cheaper to boot! These games are more story driven then any other pokemon game! There a few flaws I do NOT like but Ill just have to deal with. GTS . Game Freak still has NOT figured out how to block people from asking for unreasonable trades. Like Caterpie for Arceus , for example . Not much backwards compatibility with 6th gen games . Theres NO way to trade directly between 6th and 7th gen games without Pokémon Bank . I myself and many others have tested this. Theres NO way to battle players who have 6th gen games either . But in the end , despite the flaws I still think these are solid games .

Been a Pokemon trainer since Crystal version, which is still my favorite. I really love how they integrated modern concepts from X and Y, while still keeping familiar concepts from the way older games in Moon and Sun. They streamlined little things that make game-play much more smooth, and the more involved and in-depth story line truly makes the game more immersive. I love the new gym battle system, and love the refresh system! Overall, its a wonderful addition to the massive world of Pokemon and Im very glad I pre-ordered it. I havent been able to put it down! Definitely recommend this game for both seasoned Pokemon pros and brand new trainers. Both will find many hours of fun within the Alola region.

It is great to find all of the 3DS Pokémon games on Amazon below the original retail price, and not have to pay scalper prices for something that has over eight million copies floating around. World Edition games are USA region games that have been packaged by Nintendo for smaller international markets. Dont be scared to buy it if you live in the United States, Canada or Mexico (North America). Though I would recommend that you buy Ultra Moon since it is the same game and story but improved (like Platinum is to Diamond).

I havent played a pokemon game since Pokemon Crystal. Thats a LOOONG time ago. I was hesitant on grabbing the next release of Pokemon, but I was curious to see how much it has changed and whatnot. Thankfully, not all full 700+ pokemon is required to capture to complete the Alola Pokedex and Im thankful for that feature. Im also glad that I dont need to be overwhelmed by other generations of Pokemon (at least not yet) when versing others. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that I do not regret spending my time and money on. Cant wait to hear about the Nintendo Switch announcement for pokemon!

game is just as fun as other pokemon games and it has exciting new features that were specifically made for pokemon moon and its alternate game pokemon sun. i picked pokemon moon because its legendary pokemon is a giant bat pokemon where pokemon sun has a lion type. i just got my game not too long ago so im not really far in the game yet since i dont have tons of time to play it. i will say though im far enough in that i love what i see and cant wait to see what else it has in store for me. i am 28 years old and it is a great game for kids or adults without getting bored at all

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon will launch in the US November 18th, 2016 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Embark on a new adventure as a Pokemon Trainer and catch, battle, and trade all-new Pokemon on the tropical islands of a new Region and become a Pokemon Champion!
