> 3 dayI have not been a fan of any of the Pokémon games that came out after platinum but this one is really great. THE GOOD: The whole world is in a 3D view instead of a top down or mixed viewpoint. I think they did a really good job of implementing it because I hated it in xy. One of the things I hated about xy was all the new stupid Pokémon and the abscense of the original 150. However in this game the original Pokémon are abundant and I think they did a great job refreshing some of them with the aloa special looks. Having to complete challenges instead of gym matches is a refreshing mix up, and still decently challenging I never liked mega evolution. It just felt forced, and a little over powered. It really takes no place in this game and instead you get to use z powers which are a once per battle powerful attack of one specific type. I think this was a nice addition to the game, but still a little over powered THE BAD: I am playing on a new 3ds xl and have not had any issues but some of my friends with a regular 3ds xl have said that the game lags a bit in some of the bigger battles. Team skull is pretty cringey in the way they talk and try to act gangster. They dont really feel evil to me and just seem like a minor nuisance There are four islands and the entire first island is really just a giant tutorial All of the avatars are super feminine. As a guy I would prefer if I could make a guy that looked at least somewhat like a guy You dont really have a rival, your opponent chooses the starter weak to yours and is never really any trouble to defeat

> 3 dayHavent played Pokemon since Pokemon Platinum. Along with a lot of new Pokemon theyve got rid of a lot of annoyances. When you catch a Pokemon and have a full party, it will ask whether you want to replace a Pokemon in your party with it sending the other to the PC. The same with Pokemon and eggs that are given to you so you dont need an open spot in your party to receive an egg, they can be sent to the PC. In battles theres a button to use the last used item. Real nice not having to traverse the menus when trying to catch a legendary. Theres also sorting options for the items that I dont remember being able to do back in the day. Movement isnt grid based anymore. Its a bit more fluid and the character models have more human proportions. Still stylized of course but theyre not little sprites or chibi 3D models. Theyve removed the need for HM moves to get through levels. They now give you access to these on demand call whenever Pokemon that you can use in replacement for things like Surf, Fly, and Cut. The beginning has a lot of cutscenes. Theres a lot more cutscenes in this game compared to previous. The story is also quite a bit different than previous games. The evil team isnt as much of a focus. Theyre still there but not as prominent. Overall the quality of life improvements in this game makes it a much nicer experience. I cant wait to see what they can do with Pokemon on the Switch. When a Pokemon game comes out on that, with the added power, Im sure theyll be able to rid of more annoying kinks in the Pokemon formula.

> 3 dayThe game is overall fun. Graphics looks quite nice on my New 3ds XL. Its pretty easy to beat the game and level up Pokémon. Im a 90s kids so I remember having to train your Pokémon for long hours before hitting the gym leaders. With this game you receive exp share for your whole party. Meaning that leveling up Pokemon has been made easy and you can just keep using one Pokémon to do all your battles while the other Pokémon leech the exp. The game can be beaten in 1 or 2 days. Although it will take you a while to evolve and catch all the Pokemon in the game. Overall, I dont think itll take more than 1 week to beat the game and finish the pokedex.

> 3 dayOne of the best games in the series to date. Ive played since gen one, I have to say that the characters and writing in sun and moon is amazing. The closest would be gen 5, but that was more story driven than character in my opinion. The designs may take some getting used to, but after a month even the ones I didnt like originally have grown on me. The only complaints may be that the beginning of the game is rather dialogue heavy, so for kids that dont like reading or even others, it may come off as tedious. Other than that, the post-game is rather small and similar to X and Y/ORAS.

Greater than one weekAs soon as I saw the trailer for Pokemon Sun and Moon on YouTube,I knew I had to pre-order it.Lots of people have been waiting for so long to get their hands on this game and I was worried that as soon as I got mine,I wouldve been disappointed. When the demo came out,I instantly played it.I ended up craving more. But the wait was worth it! This game is so amazing even though I just barely started it.What I like about this is that you dont have to battle gym after gym in order to progress. There are around 4 islands in the game and each is controlled by an island Kahuna. The only way you can get to them is by completing some side quests or fighting in battles, which is completely different from previous Pokemon games in which you had to battle a bunch of gym leaders in order to get some progression.Another aspect that I like about the game is the time difference between Sun and Moon.Moon plays in a different time zone than Sun,which makes the game-play a bit more interesting. These are just some of the things that youll find different from previous game generations.Regardless,I enjoy this game and I know Ill spend a lot of time playing it.

> 3 dayIm gonna get some hate for this... I got this game recently and the last one I had played was Y and I LOVE that game. It was a big grand adventure and it had a lot going for it. This feels like theyre trying to do the same thing but something was irking me about it. It feels like less an adventure and more that youre at camp. You have camp counselors wholl open up paths after you do your trial/activity and proceed to the next challenge. The main female main characters eyes are big and soulless which really isnt helped by the way she reacts to things, or doesnt more accurately. Thats the thing, everyone expresses so well in this game, all the NPCs are rendered really well and nicely but then theres your souless self just standing there :) going for the ride. Never expressing herself, which maybe wouldnt be so bad if everyone else wasnt so expressive. Team Skull is probably the most amusing of the teams Ive seen in my Pokemon run (Red/Blue, Silver, Y) and the supporting characters with you are a bit ...weird to me. Maybe Im just missing something with them. But every cutscene with them felt the same after a while. Get in the bag and Im not mad that I lost for the 10th time. I like characters and their plots more than anything in RPGs, it can even make up for a bad story but Im just finding this adventure to be way more toned back and lacking in the adventure part and I just cant get on with it. It feels like Im being treated like a child while in previous adventures they treated you like you were rapidly earning respect. That you were of age and went out to do what you wanted vs a guided tour. The gameplay also feels slow, with the effects turned on in battle theres so many redundant things being done, even in the field even with the text at MAX speed. You found a berry! You got a berry! Wait, theres more here you found another berry! Theres separate text boxes for each of these, every time, and its the theme of the game, wasting your time with redundant, obvious text every step of the way. Only made worse by unskippable jingles every time. Im playing 7th Dragon 3 Code VFD and everything is fast and snappy. Hit a guy, hes confused, they have an effect and a short text blurb that flies on screen to tell you whats going on if the effect wasnt apparent, all effects are listed so they dont have to remind you EVERY TURN. The game is so slow and its all things that other RPGs understood how to speed up ages ago so I can only assume they did this to pad the game out and it just isnt for me. Its just burnt me out real fast and Im sorry to say Im selling this game. Its such a shame, the game looks great, characters express themselves like youd see in Mega Man Legends, youve never had such a great view into the pokemon games. But theres so many things gone wrong in the game for me I just cant stick it out. I swear Pokemon Y wasnt this tedious...Yes Im sure it dragged its feet in some ways but I dont remember it being this tedious.

Greater than one weekTo start, I didnt play black/white, but if you count those out this is my least favorite in the series. The biggest downfall of this game were all the cutscenes. After beating the Elite Four and becoming the champion there seemed to be twenty minutes of cutscenes and credits that didnt have much break in between. I did however like a lot of the new Pokemon and the alternative versions of classic Pokemon. Z moves were okay, but seeing as you can only use them once in battle on one poke, it was a waste of a held item on multiple Pokemon. I really enjoyed the in battle benefits of having strong affection with you Pokemon. They kept the ability to customize your character like X/Y which was sadly missed in the ruby/sapphire remakes. The new characters werent great for the most part. Professor Kukui and Gladion were good, but I didnt care for Hau and hated Lillie. Most the story seemed focused around helping Lillie do things instead of focusing on your Pokemon journey. At first team skull was annoying, but ended up being funny after awhile once you get over the initial ridiculousness. Overall I thought the game was just okay. At parts I did enjoy it, but for the most part it felt pretty tedious. Now that the main story line is complete, I think Ill like it more. So far end game things like helping the police has been pretty good.

> 3 dayI pre-ordered this back in October - I was super stoaked when it arrived on release day. Ive been a super big pokemon fan since Red/Blue were released 20 years ago. I was a little apprehensive since Id heard Sun/Moon kinda deviated from the traditional pokemon game. ~Spoilers! Dont read this part if you dont want to know about storyline~ The biggest thing I didnt really care for was how guided the game is - there are a TON of cut scenes you cant skip through, and the beginning of the game really forces you along (blocked paths, required tasks before you can do anything else, etc.). This makes the game quite easy to progress through since there isnt really any way you can get lost. Sun/Moon dont have the traditional Gym Leaders/Battles - instead, you are a trial-goer and participate in little mini-tasks through your journey across Alola. Rather than Leaders, you are given trials by Island Captains, and eventually face the Island Kahuna as the Grand Trial on each island. I honestly found some of the trials to be rather silly - one is a find the difference sort of game, another is wandering around finding items in a jungle, etc. None are particularly difficult puzzles or anything. Grand Trials are battles, and those arent particularly difficult either (you get the Alpha Saphire/Omega Ruby style Exp. Share pretty early on, so your team is pretty OP. The main story line is pretty interesting - I enjoyed some of the unexpected twists. The after-story is also pretty good, and theres quite a bit to do after beating the pokemon league the first time around. There are no HMs in Sun/Moon - instead, you get to ride various pokemon around and can call them from anywhere. Pretty useful, and theres no need to keep an HM slave around to get through different dungeons. I liked Pokemon Refresh a lot - its really cute to be able to interact with your pokemon after a battle. Pokepelego is also pretty cool - the ability to farm berries so quickly/in one spot is insanely useful. Im not too thrilled with the Festival Plaza - it seems you need to be connecting with other trainers via NFC, etc to get the most out of this one. TL;DR - Fun pokemon game.

> 3 dayIf you love Pokemon you have to get this. I havent beaten it yet but this one sure does knock it out of the park. The cut-scenes alone are enough to sell the game The whole world is lively and full of Pokemon to interact with. Not only that you can ride Pokemon all over the towns and maps! Theres a lot to be excited about this game especially now that everything is build from the ground up on this one. No more mini characters and full sized characters that was really bothering me the last games. If you love Pokemon you will definitely love this one, Its the same game we knew to grow and love 20+ years ago!
