I used these to sense if a garage door was open or closed. I replaced some un-reliable (cheap) ones that kept causing false signals. These care used with an automation system and false readings caused problems like the doors opening in the night. These new sensors have been great and spot on reliable for weeks now. Very highly recomended if reliability and stability are important to you. These are also very adjustable and also work well at a gap upto 2.
