Is a little louder than the stock power unit that originally comes with the Xbox system. But a great replacement part. It is not consistently loud, but when the fan kicks on it makes some noise that is noticeable. Though i will add a disclaimer that it may be because I am more aware of it because I was having problems with the original unit that came with the system.

Kids attempted to play Xbox but it wouldnt turn on. Figured out it was the power supply. None available in the local stores, so very glad to be able to order and receive quickly this replacement without spending a lot. Sitting in the living room I asked if anyone else could hear this loud sound, and everyone pointed to the power supply. A game was not being played at the time. You get used to it but I didnt expect it, after having the original Xbox never make a sound. The Xbox works, however, and Im grateful to be able to have fixed the problem and get on with life, with fast shipping and not a huge expense.

Worked great!....bought a repaired X BOX and the power supply was always making noise...I bought this power supply and it works like it was supposed to when it was new.
