Once again President has produced a great 10 and 12 meter transceiver with improvements in mic audio and receive audio to name a few.The pc is all smt and is a sight to behold. For those of you that are interested in freq. expansion, there is a little more procedure involved, ie. installing a 1/2 watt 1K Ohm resistor on the vacant spot on the pc board, and then it can be field programmed or by using the data port to pc and software. So with this little bit of info might add icing on the cake for those of you who prefer this kind of thing. Anyway you slice it,this rig is a five star choice in my book and it has a lower price tag as well. Get one for yourself and see. You want be disappointed.Sincerely,Edgar.

What I don’t like about it is I can not get any reception what’s so ever out of it I don’t think it should even be sold from what I have read about the reviews on it is that they are not good at all it’s nothing but a piece of junk that’s my opinion

This radio is a waste of good money. Specs say you get 12 watts on AM mode. I am lucky to get 3 Watts on any mode. Will not receive from a friend that lives e miles away pushing 200 Watts on his radio. Either I received a defective radio or it is pure junk. Have contacted seller and have yet to receive a reply. I have completed the modification to the radio so I doubt if they will allow me to return it. I will take it to a shop and have it tuned properly but that will cost me another $100.00. Should have purchased the Uniden 980.

The Bad: First and foremost, Ive been a HAM for about 7 years, and have never really been a CB operator. That said: One of the images for this product says, repeatedly, This is not a CB!!!. Unfortunately, to me, it seemed to operate like, a CB! I did somewhat like the radio, however. But instead of having dedicated buttons for a Roger Beep or an Echo Effect, I wouldve rather had buttons for the SWR Meter, or almost anything else embedded in the menu system. The screen was a bit too retro for me. Its a bit too much to navigate the menus while trying to decipher what is on the display. I cant imagine why it wouldve been any more expensive to simply use a Grid LED instead of this. And, of course... Channels instead of Frequencies. This Radio has bands A-J, not bands 10m and 12m This Radios Channel display is about 4x higher than the Frequency display. It just felt like it was targeting the CB market a bit too much while side-stepping the Ham Operator market which, technically, this radio should be marketing too. The Good: Heres why it was actually a difficult decision to return it. The Radio has good power outputs on AM, FM, SSB, and CW. Were in one of the lowest Solar Cycles since Radio was invented, and I made contacts from NY to GA within my first hour of powering it on. The Sound quality is quite good for an internal speaker. And to be quite honest, Im rather fond of having more dials, less menus. I may eventually pick one up again. But first, I want to get more of a Base Station type radio, with more bands available during this low solar cycle.

Have been using it for a bit now and it has been great so far. It has 8 memories (tow emergency + six regular), I wish it had a bit more and perhaps a bit more power, but I love its clarity and functions. In this low propagation days I have been able to make contacts to several thousands of kilometers away and received sstv images. I have seen any radio with this features and quality at this price.

Has great output and awesome features! Totally worth the price! I have a Striker and a HR2510. This radio stands well and holds it own!

I have to say that I didn’t like this radio while running tests as a base station. I think my Antron 99 was introducing too much noise. My change of mind happened once I installed this radio in my car. So, here are the things I like and dislike: I like: 1. Very quiet receiver when used in my car. Low noise floor. I have to keep checking if the radio is on. 2. Good transmit audio. I left mine stock. No adjustments. 3. Sensitivity is great. I’m able to detect a tone at -127dbm. 3. RIT and XIT is included in V3. The non V3 didn’t have XIT feature in the menu. In version 3 You can turn one, the other, or both on. 4. Power output was exactly as specified 5. President was kind enough to chat with me about my concerns. 6. Love the DIN size. Excellent. Dislikes: 1. I prefer to see the frequency as full screen instead of the CHannel number. 2. CW has a few bugs. The first character sent is usually clipped. 3. Mic seems a bit light weight but sounds good.

One of the few 10m radios that has SSB, CW, and AM along with FM. Will be a great unit for when the bands open up again.
