Seems like it would be pretty chew proof, BUT if a dog was left on his own and he is a chewer, it probably is chewable. I have used a leash with a handle near the color for years, it really helps to redirect/control a strong or larger dog. (In my case). The foam lining on the handle makes it more comfortable and easier to grip.

This leash has lasted through four chewed harnesses. Not sure how they make it so indestructible but it is. Comfy to hold too.

Very happy with this purchase. In fact, this was my second leash purchased from this seller/brand for a new addition to the family. Holds up very well against a 75lb ball of muscle and a 108lb gentle giant. Incredibly comfortable with the extra padding and love the 2nd loop for gaining better control. Strongly recommend!

This is a wonderful leash ! It is very well made and the second handle gives you control when you need it. The Labs sometimes think it would be fun to sniff a cactus, Out here in Arizona the opportunities are limitless...LOL..so short leash control is a real blessing to keep them close at hand and away from things that stick,poke and stab inquisitive noses. Also works great getting through the Treat aisle at the Pet Store..They cannot put everything they want into the cart, .I love it and the Labs give it a 4 paws up !

This is the best dog leash I have ever owned. Its very strong and substantial, but its comfortable to hold. The handle is padded and the leash itself is a smooth material thats comfortable to use when I wrap it around my hand. I also like the short leash attached. I was afraid it would be flopping on the ground, but its cleverly Velcroed to the leash itself so it stays right in place and its at a perfect location for holding my dog close to me when needed. Im very happy with this purchase!

Works great with training my dog on the leash it for sure helps! I love the padding on the handle has well it isn’t so hard on my hands.

I have as this leash for 2 years now. My girl chewed a little on the leash but it is still going strong. She is a German Shepherd and can pull if she wants to and I have never felt she is not secure with this leash even though it would be considered damaged.

I bought this after seeing it recommended by ATK. My dog is a miniature schnauzer. He is somewhat well trained, but still a puppy. The short handle comes in handy if another dog approaches, etc. The handles are comfortable. It is a bit bulky for a smaller dog.

I got this for my 6 month pointer/pit mix puppy to be able to have better control over her during walks around other people and dogs, handles are nice though the velcro while a neat idea is slightly uncomfortable, but the benefit of the lower handle not dragging on the ground is a fair trade off. I would purchase again. Works well with my EasyWalk harness hardly any pulling anymore and if there is I can easy control her with the lower handle. **Update** I still love this leash but the lower handle is just too low to be used comfortable with my dog, shes on the smaller side for her breeds at 50lbs and is slightly choked if I try to walk her with the short handle. Would be great with a taller dog. Would love it if they made it with the handle a few inches higher.

The leash is long enough that I dont trip over my Greyhound during our walks. There are a couple of areas on the sidewalks were we are right next to the traffic traveling fast. The short handle gives me the security to know my dog will not be able to bolt into the street if startled. the clasp appears to be very sturdy. Would purchase again.
