I’ve been using this keyboard for several months now and love it. Pros: I’m a fast typed and it keeps up perfectly with no lag. So far no problem with the costing wearing thin or rubbing off. Last keyboard was a much cheaper one and the black coating on the keys wore off quickly which removed letters and made the keyboard look bad. The only cons is I wish it had an on/off switch instead of having to unplug it when I’m done.

I love this keyboard. Love the colors too. And I have a free suggestion to Red Dragon on how to improve their keyboards. I hate dust. You should add a hinged plastic cover to the keyboard to keep out dust when not in use. Just lift it up and youre ready to type. No charge for the idea, but feel free to send me one if you like the idea. Thanks.

Its been just a good keyboard. Its also unexpectedly heavy, so be ready for that. Also get a wrist pad if you dont float your wrists when typing. The software is primitive and the RGB spectrum isnt great. The color you select on screen often doesnt match what shows up on the keyboard unless you are close to a standard color, example, white is light purple, and the lighter you go on any color slowly turns into light purple. Has a twang that sounds like a spring being flicked in a metal box if you press the keys with normal typing force, so I constantly hear it. I hear people say its because the switches are seated in a metal frame, but I understand a common theme among higher quality mechanical keyboards is they are mostly metal, so Ill chalk this experience up to low build quality. Would be interesting to hear the switches in a plastic frame. They are also starting to develop a slight squeak. I havent tried lubing or isolation rings so not sure if that would help. I dont think the actuation force feels uniform across all keys. These brown switches have a barely noticeable ridge when pressed, my opinion is that they are just alright in terms of mechanical feel. It comes with other samples of switches, the blacks take more force but dont have a noticeable ridge when pressed, the reds just feel light and mushy, and the blue have a nice click that sounds similar to a mouse click but add in the twang and squeak issue I mentioned earlier and I dont think I could handle that... The caps lock indicator light will sometimes switch indication. Meaning when you press the caps lock key and the light turns on, youll be typing lowercase. It switches back on its own. I have no idea whats going on with that. This is my first mechanical keyboard, so I didnt want to spend a lot. You get what you pay for so thats why I rated 4 stars instead of 3, because a lot of this doesnt necessarily mean the keyboard is junky it just means it was constructed as a cheap mechanical keyboard. I went from low profile membrane to this and it definitely required a learning curve, but regardless of all of this I dont think Ill go back to membrane. In the future Ill just get something higher quality that has switches with more actuation force, less travel, and an ever so slight click if something like that exists.

I bought the K556 RGB back in Dec2020. Ive been very happy, and no software was required to use it. Im still using this keyboard today and was thinking of adding another for use with different system I built. I see more models have been added, which have some of my interest, however, they all seem to use software now. I dont want to have to do this in order to control RGB backlight features. Even the K556 now appears to use software now. I hope it’s optional and not required. Nevertheless, Ive been happy with the one I bought.

Ive had this keyboard for a few months now and it is working very well. I was worried that I may not quite like this keyboard but it is a solid option for the price. This keyboard is built like a tank. The keyboard is extremely solid. Unscrewing the sides of the keyboard reveals that there is almost no empty space inside. The keyboard has almost zero flex. The keyboard also is a decent weight, being the heaviest keyboard that I have ever used (I havent used a ton of keyboards, especially vintage ones). The next closest would probably be a Zenith Z-150, which is also built very well. The build quality also outmatches other keyboards that I have seen that cost much more. The features Redragon-branded Outemu Brown Keyswitches, meaning it is a mechanical keyboard. This keyswitches in this board are also hotswappable, alowing for some customization with the switches. Along with the switches in the keyboard, it comes with 8 seperate switches, a keycap puller, and a keyswitch puller. The extra switches it comes with are: 2 Blues (lightweight-clicky switch), 2 Browns (lightweight-tactile switch), 2 Red (lightweight-linear switch), and 2 Black (heavier-linear switch). This keyboard also has rgb lighting, it is advertised for gamers after all. The lighting on the board is pretty good, and is also per-key, meaning that each indovidual key may have a different lighting effect. The board does come with a few preloaded effects and functions to change them, but the software is needed for greater customization. While the software isnt anything special, it is passable and does have all the needed settings for the backlighting. I personally dont care for the lighting and have it on a solid color or off most of the time, but there are a multitude of effects to try out. The software also seems like it may have a macro functionality, though I never use macros so I havent looked at it. While the keyboard has many good qualities, there are a few which take one star ooff of my rating. My first issue with the keyboard was with the hotswap switches. The switches are so tight in the board, it seems nearly impossible to get them out without breaking the clips on the switch. I even had to get a knife to help pry the switches out while pulling on them with the included puller. I did manage to eventually get some out, and ended up replacing the spring in my spacebars switch with one from the heavier black switches. My last gripe is that I dislike the font, but that is a subjective thing and I can always just buy new ones. Pros: - Good price - Fantastic Build Quality - Mechanical - Hefty - Hotswap Cons: - Font on keycaps is weird (VERY subjective) - Keyswitches are very hard to pull out Conclusion: Overall a great keyboard for the price. For $60 USD, you get a product with a good amount of features, amazing build quality, and mechanical switches for a price much lower than other manufacturers. The hotswap switches are probably my biggest issue with the keyboard.

I purchased this keyboard to replace a very clicky mechanical keyboard that greatly annoyed anyone nearby, or anyone that I was on the phone with, or chatting with while typing. It was loud, and I thought that all mechanical keyboards were the same. This keyboard is far quieter, although it is missing the clicky tactile response that I was accustomed to. Button presses are very smooth, lighting is great, and keys feel very nice. Also, this thing is much heavier than my previous keyboard - so heavy, that you could use it to attack someone that you dont like, and it would probably not break. Great keyboard - you should buy it right now.

I am new to mechanical keyboards and wanted a cheaper one to make sure I liked this type of keyboard. This keyboard has a metallic base and is pretty hefty. It over all seems pretty sturdy and I love the sound of the brown switches. Compared to other brown switches I have heard it might be a little louder due to the key caps, but I tend to like the click they make. The lighting on the keyboard is very nice and there is a variety of color choices as well as RGB. I have had another redragon keyboard and in general I love them. They are an affordable and sturdy option for a beginner. I wish it was a little more intuitive, but I think over all it is very worth the money.

Arrived fast-packaged fine. I wanted a back lit keyboard for general typing and computer work. Had old basic keyboard for 12 years and wanted something new. I am a 65 year old female and just needed something that was easy to use and works good. I am not a gamer-So much to choose from-reviews where half good-half bad on all keyboards. Even expensive keyboards had bad reviews. Seems the better keyboards are gaming, mechanical and depend on type of key color so thought I would give this one a try. This is a very small keyboard and my hands feel cramped when typing. Although maybe it is because this is a benefit for gamers. Would have liked larger keys but this is a learning experience about keyboards. Mechanical keyboard with brown keys. Makes clicky sound when typing but this does not bother me. USB which is great-plugged in fine worked perfect. What I do not like is the instruction booklet-is not helpful and sort of confusing for how to set color of back light. I had to go to internet and watch videos on how to change and set color on keyboard. That was more helpful and then was able to understand instruction booklet better. Gave it a 4 Star because of instruction booklet. Does have nice colors and bright. Not sure about the wave of in and out of colors changing-hard on my eyes but maybe a gamer thing. I picked Red backlight and keep it set not to change. Just had to play with settings to understand how they work. Gave 4 star for instructions booklet. Will keep keyboard.
