> 3 dayThe ceramic heat lamp bulb is good for providing heat but not light to a cage or coup. I use mine to provide heat for my 6 quails in their coup, and for my box turtle in his indoor habitat. How much heat depends on how close the lamp is lowered but it does put out heat in an area that is about twice the radius of the bulb. I have my bulb in a lamp with a metal shade. You will need a thermometer under the heat lamp to know what the temp is. My turtle stays under the heat lamp for awhile to get warm and to bask under the uv lamp which is located next to the heat lamp. He doesnt get too hot and the temperature probe stays at about 75 to 80 degrees.

> 3 dayBest product so far for keeping my girls from freezing. I have a 60 watt about 3 feet from the floor and a 70 suspended from the loft. Its 20 degrees outside but 40 & above inside. no more worrying about fires (from incandescent bulbs) and their water doesnt freeze overnyte.
