> 3 dayIve gone through many ceramic heat emitter bulbs caring for 3 snakes over the years. Some of the regular uv bulbs will have a scent when warming up for the first time or so when new. Usually its like a burning, heat smell if that makes sense. Ive grown familiar with the smell and no longer alarmed by it. Same goes tor the ceramic heat bulbs. Ive bought many different brands as well. This particular bulb smelled toxic. Like chemicals were being burned off when I first used it. It was alarming how awful the smell was so I removed it from above my snake tank thinking I didnt want any of my BPs or myself inhaling this garbage. I tried burning off the smell in a separate room in the next day or so and honestly could not tolerate the smell whatsoever. Never experienced this scent before with a bulb and I realize that most are probably made in China; nevertheless, this coming from China with the toxic smell it was emitting freaked me out. Returning this bulb, will not buy from this company again and will be seeking out bulbs made in the USA going forward!!

> 3 dayGood product for heat for our poultry brooder without the need for light. Just be careful it doesnt fall down on a plastic bin. It will melt the plastic and emit smoke from the plastic, but thats just the product working as it was designed. Kept our birds warm in the garage during the winter months.

> 3 dayLove this thing! Bought the bulb, a bulb holder and set it up. My old plant never grew, my new one is already taller. It just needed heat. Will use for seedlings etc. I wrapped tinfoil around pot, nice and warm every time i check temperature.

> 3 dayI really like using this ceramic heater for my snake (Kingsnake). Keeps the warm side around 85°F from 12 inches away which is perfect for the little guy. Only downside is it lowers humidity. Id definitely recommend this to anyone whose looking to warm up their reptiles enclosure a little bit more.
