Rio Grande Games Dominion Dark Ages Expansion, Brown

I liked the set overall. Its theme was a little darker than what I prefer but not as bad as Nocturne and it was still a good set. Dont get me wrong, I like the mechanics of Nocturne but not its card names and theme(imps and the like). For Dark Ages I loved the trash interactions and the additions of spoils and ruins cards. A great set overall however I recommend getting other expansions first as this set works better with those expansions than without. The others are better solo.

I find Dark Ages to be an amazing additive expansion. When I purchased it, I already owned Dominion and Intrigue 2nd edition, Prosperity, Adventures, and Hinterlands. The initial reaction I got to Dark Ages was that it was NOT a fun expansion to play by itself. Perhaps it was the two recommended sets; Playing Chess with Death felt a bit boring, and Grim Parade, while really engine-friendly and fun, felt like it was really, really wild (sort of like when Kings Court from Prosperity is on the board). Not really a bad thing, but eh. I find where Dark Ages shines is in the variety; adding it to your other expansions brings out some really interesting strategies. There are a lot of cards in Dark Ages that are flat-out some of the best in the game, and tossing in a few of those cards really shakes things up. If you enjoy randomizing your Dominion a lot, I think that Dark Ages really would benefit you. If youre considering this as your first expansion and are looking for some fun stand-alone gameplay, perhaps this shouldnt be your first choice.

This is a great expansion which completely alters the manner in which the game is played. A fantastic upgrade for those who are getting a little too comfortable with the original or other expansion packs!

This is an awesome expansion! By adding a lot of new elements, it completely changes the Dominion gaming experience!! I love the depth and the cards interactions in this set, its much more complex and fun than Dominion: prosperity.

This is an intriguing addition to Dominion. It allows for some of the most intricate strategies. When people first start using it, Ive found that its learning curve slows game play more than other sets. But once players have grown accustomed, this is one of the top - if not the top - Dominion expansion.

Love this product overall, it’s one of the best expansions in the series.

Looks like it would have been a great game but inside the box it was missing cards. I had an extra pack of cards i already had but missing others.
