> 24 hourI was having a problem with the hose connector filter on a watering timer becoming clogged regularly with sediment particles from my well. I bought this Rusco sediment filter to precede the timer and clear the sediment before it got to the timers filter. It was not initially successful because it turned out there was a lot of very fine sediment and this was clogging the Rusco with its 100 mesh filter unnecessarily and needing to be cleared almost daily, although the very fine sediment would not have been a problem to the timer and would have passed its filter. I replaced the 100 mesh with a 40 mesh filter in the Rusco and it now does the job of protecting the timer perfectly.

> 24 hourWe have had this installed for about a week a now. It works better than expected. Thats the good news, and the bad news. Our water is crystal clear, but we have a lot of sand in the water from the well so I have to clear out the filter once a day. Prior to purchasing this, we spent a lot of money replacing shower, tub, sink valves and spouts due to the sand build up. This will help a lot with that. It does work, and since it works, if you have sediment in your water, you will have to clear the filter as frequently as the sediment builds up so install it in the most convenient place that you can for clearing the filter. PROS: It works great! CONS: It works great!

> 24 hourWorked beautifully. Too well, in fact. I severely underestimated the level of funk in our water. Almost immediately after installing this, the filter element was black with sand. I am currently running it sans element until the 30 mesh arrives. Even without an element, it spins quite a lot of garbage to the bottom of the reservoir.

> 24 hourI replaced the housing because of a small leak in the discharge side of pvc joint. I’m using this as a pre filter for my sediment filtration system. This spindown filter works great. I have an automatic valve on this filter that cleans itself every day.

> 24 hourSprinklers were clogging due to sediment from well. This solved the problem. You do need to clear the trap regularly depending on how much its catching or pressure will drop behind it as it becomes clogged. I setup a little solenoid that drains the trap on a regular basis and it works great. No more clogged sprinklers.

> 24 hourI added a hose bib and an Orbit hose timer in place of the pvc ball valve. Backwash automatically for one minute every seven days. regular battery has lasted over a year so far on Orbit timer.

> 24 hourHad to replace the old one when I had plumbing work done. Remember female copper to PVC works not the other way around

> 24 hourThe reason I only gave this three stars and not more is because the filter worked awesome until the inlet nut cracked after 24 hours and practically flooded my basement.
