Bought to replace old slow and loud 1TB hdd in 2015 HP Pavillion laptop. Tried using Samsung Migration and Magician for cloning drive with no luck. 6hrs of cloning, 99% completion then ran an error, twice. 12 hrs later I defragmented, shrunk partition and ran skndsk /f /r on old hdd. Then used Macrium Reflect to clone with great success. Works great, works fast. Would recommend, just stay away from the Samsung Software.

Been a long time since I built a full system. These things are so nice for space saving. So much faster than the old drives I had. Love it.

I took the time to install this in my gaming PC and it does not work the way its supposed to. It recognizes that there is a drive but wont let me access it. Im pretty angry, as I waited to install it after getting it and am now past the date of return.

I’m a music producer, musician, audio engineer. I was looking for an external drive to house all of my software, so that I wouldn’t over load my computer’s SSD with software and plugins. I bought this one because it was priced very inexpensively, but to my surprise it was a slow dud.

MY HARD DRIVE CRASHED IN MY MACBOOK PRO 2012. I INSTALLED THIS AND IT WAS VERY EASY TO INSTALL AND SET UP.

I use Hard Disk Sentinel to keep tabs on the performance of my disks, HD or SSD. After one year of use (6.77 tB lifetime writes) my Samsung 870 QVO 1tB is down to less than half the speed advertised when new. A clone to this disk takes 3 times as long as it does to a new SSD. The loss of speed is uniform across the disk, not limited to only certain areas. This slowdown would not be something most users would notice as they would a failure, but since speed is a major factor in a SSD, serious loss of speed over time is something to consider.

Ive used samsung for over 5 years and have never had an issue with their SDD drives
