6500 read speed, 1000 faster than internal ssd read speed. You know what I had to do. I put 20 games on this bad boy and its trucking right along no problems no crashes, did had to rebuild the database after a few weeks, dont know what thats all about. Anyway, I really like this 2tb SSD , Im a Samsung fan and it forced me to clean out all the cat hair and dust in my ps5 its like new!

I may have made a mistake in ordering with a heat sink - but I am a bit of a fan of Samsung SSDs. This drive was easy to install, cloned perfectly with the Samsung Magician and took the place of my 1TB SSD (now the D: drive) Still a fan of Samsung tech.

In total, I have three of these now. Two are in Z690 motherboards (one with an i7-13600K and another with an i5-12600K) and the other is in a Z390 (i5-9600K). For the i7 machine, the SSD is in the M.2 slot connected to the CPU directly and for the i5, its connected via the chipset. After running Crystal Disk Mark a couple of times there is no performance difference (indiscernible or otherwise) between the drive connected to the CPU directly (with the i7) and the drive connected to the chipset (with the i5). Both get close to 7GB/sec read times. Write times are about 4.5GB/sec, which is way faster than anything I need. Even though Im not totally blown away by their performance, theyre still very good SSDs.

Guys the item is as advertised, when checking the firmware because 980 pro 2tb ssds had issues with failiures because of problems with old firmware, the ssd came with the latest version of firmware, my ps5 finally has breathing space and no update was neccessary , would buy again....

The SSD works great. As I said on title the read speed, according to the PS5, is in the 5500MB/s so it is good enough but nowhere near the advertised 7000MB/s. Maybe that speed can be achieved on a PC? Who knows but it works fine. Combined with a heatsink now my PS5 has triple the storage capacity!

Does exactly what it’s suppose to do. No issues at all

Unleash the power of the world’s No.1 memory flash drive brand since 2003. Samsung 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD for next-level computing delivers twice the data transfer rate of PCIe 3.0, while maintaining compatibility with PCIe 3.0. Experience SSD performance with read speeds of up to 7,000 MB/s² and push the limits of what SDs can do. Powered by a new in-house controller that is designed to harmonize the flash memory components and the interface for superior speed, with a PCIe 4.0 interface that’s twice as fast as PCIe 3.0 SSDs and 12X faster than Samsung SATA SSDs5, every component of this NVMe SSD is manufactured by Samsung for performance that lasts.
